USC Morning Buzz

CONNOR.2It’s Game Day and while USC’s two quarterbacks generate a lot of attention, maybe Washington State QB Connor Halliday will be more important tonight because the Cougars are desperate for a victory.

“Going 0-2 is a tough way to start the year with the goals that we have for this team, so it’s kind of a must win,” Halliday said.

Meanwhile, USC’s starter, Cody Kessler, said he got asked all week who would start at QB for the Trojans.

“I’ve gotten tons (of text messages),” Kessler said. “People I haven’t talked to in awhile are blowing my phone up. I haven’t talked to some people in a year and all of a sudden they want to talk to me.”

  1. Get used to it Cody, especially if you become “the man.” There will be strangers who will approach you as if they had known you since you were a little kid.

  2. Don’t get too excited about the “Blowing my phone up”, ’cause, after Saturdays LOSS, you’ll just be known as one of the QB’s at Yesterday U. that contributed to Goat Boys firing because of the 5 & 8 record.
    fit UN torgan!

    • It’s a conundrum, isn’t it? Hope for SC to win at least 7-8 so Kitten can keep his job (good for UCLA), or have pUSC go 5-7 and he’s out the door faster than George Costanza after sleeping with the cleaning lady. I’ll take the latter, even if it means Goat Boy heads to Portland State as the QB coach…
