We will see about this D once they go against some real teams. Of course , not playing Oregon will help their stats LOL. Pendergast probably isn’t feared by other Pac coaches since he failed at Cal … and just about every other place he has been.
He’s got quite a bit more talent now than he had at Cal. But let’s see in a month where this team is.
Cal went from seventh to first in the Pac-12 conference in total defense in his first season there. How was that a failure?…..And what coach actually “fears” another coach in the Pac-12?…. gimme a break…..
That was a total flook. Cal was good that year because they had so much talent with the backs. And anyways, Oregon was not looking at their seriously. Pendergas is not even good engouth to coach in Berekly.

It was clancy’s defense that held Oregon to like 17 points(pretty sure it was 17) a couple years ago. I think that if he has the talent, his D should be pretty good.

According to ESPN, USC is the only FBS team this season to not allow a scoring play (TD or FG) on a drive that reached the red zone…. Utah State has scored on 16 of its 17 red zone drives this season, with 14 red zone drives resulting in a TD. Its red zone TD mark of 82.4 percent is ninth-best in FBS…….Something obviously has to give this weekend……

The Defense will be as good as the offense allows it to be, the Trojans do not have a dominate Offense and will leave the defense out to dry against a competitive Team . So you really can’t compare .
