Who Will Lane Kiffin Not Redshirt?

Whether any true freshmen will burn their redshirt year is now a topic because Lane Kiffin said everyone is “alive” and no decisions have been made. That said, offensive lineman Khaliel Rodgers was with the scout team today so it does not look like he is close to playing.

Too bad when Kiffin said everyone was a possibility no one mentioned wide receiver Steven Mitchell, who is out for the season with a knee injury. Or would Kiffin refuse to discuss him because he is hurt?

  1. Who wants to guess how many posts between now and gameday are related to: scholarship #’s, redshirts, or number of plays? Has Scott made any posts about the upcoming game vs ASU?

    • You my friend are on big HERPE….you just keep coming back again and again and again…..complaining all the time about Scotty. Why stick around if you don’t like his shtick…

      fit UN HERPE!

      • i would be lying if i said it wasn’t fun watching bucket and the voices in his head (you) beg for acceptance from the superior Trojans.

        • superior means one thing in the dictionary and apparently something quite different in the minds of Trojies.

  2. I have been reading these negative posts now for several weeks. Like all Trojan fans, I am very disappointed with how the offense is looking early in the season and am bracing for another long season. That said, what did you think was going to happen when the cartel (NCAA) stripped us of our life blood with the scholarship reductions?? That is not an excuse, it is a fact! The old days of having future NFL players on the second team are over! It will have an impact on the performance of the team. Our recruiting classes aren’t what they used to be either (as a result of the sanctions).
The sanctions need to lifted! How can they give reprieve to Penn State and not SC?? Are you f’ing kidding me?? The PS coaching staff KNEW what was going? The school admin KNEW what was going on and did nothing and even covered it up!!
Look at Johnny Manziel…Please. He is making money hand over fist and is even CAUGHT on tape!! He only gets a suspension for one half!! And yet SC almost gets the death penalty because of the actions of Reggie’s stepfather??
I’m not defending Kiffin, but this is going to be a tough few years regardless of the coach, unless the sanctions are lifted or reduced.
And UCLA will come crashing down. They always do.

    • sorry doood, but Penn State didn’t really violate NCAA rules. Pete cheated for years. Hence, your snactions stay.

      • Really? coaches molesting children isn’t a NCAA violation?? Talk about no institutional control!! It’s even worse because Joe and the AD KNEW about it!! Also, mark my words…Pete will go down as one of the all time greats..He’ll win it all this year in Seattle with my boy Russell!

        • show me in the NCAA rules where they regulate such things. Go ahead. I’ll be waiting for your non-response.

          • Simple. Lack of institutional control. If ever there was a case where an institution lacked control, you would have to agree coaches and administrators covering up the molestation of children by a football coach would be it.
While I agree they shouldn’t have to have a specific rule stating “coaches aren’t allowed to molest children in the showers”, the lack of control here was the school was aware and NOTHING was done to stop it AND they covered it up.

          • sorry, but you need to go look at the definition of “Lack of Institutional Control”. Go ahead. Get back to me after you’re done. I’ll even make it a bit easier – for there to be a lack of institutional control, there needs to be an actual violation of NCAA rules. Criminal rape cover-ups aren’t under the NCAA purview that I can tell.

          • From NCAA President Emmert : “deceitful and dishonest behavior” could be considered a violation of ethics rule”. This was the whole basis for their coming down so hard on PS with corrective and punitive measures.

          • “could be” but not, hence the reduction in sanctions. Again, this is not a debate about whether Penn St. was wrong, it’s about whether they were properly punished by the NCAA. Given the reductions, it’s clear even the NCAA agreed they were not. It can also be surmised that given the lack of sanction reductions for SC, they WERE punished fairly.

          • So, Azhole, you have obviously proven that you were President of your high school debate team, but who, specifically, at PSU should be held responsible and accountable for the coaches and administrators covering up the molestation of innocent children by a football coach???….Go ahead….Get back to us after you’re done… I’ll take your answer off the air……

          • Those are criminal matters and they’ve been handled, from what I can tell. People were arrested, they were fired, they were pushed out.

          • So, do you realize that NCAA fined Penn State $60 million for this? What do you think that was for, a warning? I noticed they didn’t reduce that! My issue is that there is NO consistency in the penalties, as you will find out soon enough when “The House of Shabazz” comes crumbling down!!

          • I don’t recall you asked about that before, but it makes no difference. NCAA acted beyond its scope because it felt like it had to. They’ve realized they were wrong and are saving face where they can. Ultimately, they never should have penalized Penn State at all.

And puhleezz. Nothing coming from Shabazz, unless of course his TROJAN daddy was on the take before Shabazz got to UCLA.

          • In case you’re slow, here’s the NCAA’s stated purpose:

The NCAA enforcement program strives to maintain a level playing field for the more than 400,000 student-athletes. Commitment to fair play is
a bedrock principle of the NCAA. The NCAA upholds that principle by
enforcing membership-created rules that ensure equitable competition and
protect the well-being of student-athletes at all member institutions.

Note, it’s about fair play (hence the SC snactions), not criminal cover-ups.

          • Hiding behind the NCAA “rulebook”…. Gee, just like the REAL NCAA!… forget about morals and integrity, right?

      • Hey Stuey, you have some proof about what you are saying about Pete, or is that just pure jealousy.

  3. Lane Kiffin doesn’t know if he’s coming or going and should not be allowed to make decisions on Redshirts because we all know that he won’t be back next season. Because if he was coming back the Athletic Administration would have extended him by now. USC made the mistake of letting former Basketball Coach Kevin O’Neil sign several average Players that nobody else in the Pac 12 wanted, knowing that they were going to let him go, and that set the Program back a few years. Every time I think of Pat Haden’s decisions as a Athletic Director so far, I have to LMAO !!!

  4. It baffles the mind that all these 5*s are redshirting or sitting on the bench or playing on the scout team. How does SuC talk now about preparing players for the pros? 5*s riding the pine. No NFL team will touch Kiffin or any other SuC coach. No other college will touch them either!
I guess the mantra of “we do so little with so much” rings true around the modern Toejam who no longer wants to compete!
