Lane Kiffin’s Fate Sealed During 28-0 ASU Run

I’m told by sources that is when USC A.D. Pat Haden decided enough is enough and summoned his staff to discuss firing Lane Kiffin.

  1. Lame comment. guys like Haden think ahead. This had already been decided and post-game was opportune moment to act.

  2. Does this mean we won’t see a menu anymore? Will someone else be calling the offense now? I am so happy, I hate visors anyway.

It took a run during the 5th game of the season after 3 years to see we had no leadership? Not saying a lot for the “leadership” above Kiffin. Had to cover their butts somehow.
    Time for a fresh start.

  3. Was the way this went down some kind of payback for prior Kiffin actions? As harmful as sanctions have been to USC, its hard not think the most severe impact was who ended up as head coach. Never in a thousand years would I have thought someone of the quality of Lane Kiffin would end up in charge of ‘SC football.

    • The timing is never great when it happens during the season but if you’re going to do it, it’s most logical to do it when you are entering a bye week.

  4. Funny that during the first 4 games of the season, we never heard anything bad about the defense. But now the defense gives up 28 points in 1 quarter and USC finally decides it is time to fire their coach who should never have been hired in the first place. Just remember, the defense isn’t all that great, they played horrible teams to start the year and they are just now getting to the “meat” of their schedule (which is the easiest of all the teams in the Pac 12). I love seeing the Trojans go down in flames. Crash and burn baby.
