Keyshawn Johnson: `20 Years From Now You’ll Forget That He Even Coached At USC’

Keyshawn Johnson gave a lively interview today on 710-AM. Some excerpts:

“Georgia played with 60 scholarships and won 10 games. Let’s get out of this scholarship excuse mode.

“The bottom line is he failed miserably as a coach.

“I don’t want anymore Paul Hacketts. I don’t want anymore Lane Kiffins. I want Pete Carroll. Twenty years from now you’ll forget that (Kiffin) even coached at USC.”

  1. Keyshawn clearly does not read this blog. Scottie will be talking about Lane Kiffin for the rest of time. USC fans have already forgotten about Lane coaching at USC and moved on. It didn’t take 20 years, it took 20 seconds.

    • You never forget the Tollners, Smith’s , Hackett’s & Kiffin’s cuz when you do, you make the same mistake again. USC seems to forget pretty fast and gets very lazy when it comes to hiring football coaches, one thinks it won’t stop now.

          • I don’t know, but MG isn’t doing the hiring anymore so what makes you think things won’t change?

          • Really ? Haden hired Kiffin, not Garrett.

Have you seen the searches Haden did for the track coach ? The baseball coach ? The women’s BB coach ? He may have gotten lucky with Enfield, time will tell, but USC is soooooo lazy when it comes to it’s football hires it’s nauseating.

          • shh. When you lack the basic command of the facts, you might want to sit out a few plays.

      • PH, You just listed all the hires, of the greatest AD in USC history, Mike Garret! Don’t forget the over the hill John Robinson and the one lucky hire PC.

    • You and the other rah rahs like Helen were just owned by Keyshawn and that’s all you have to say?

  2. 20 years from now Lane Kiffin might be a legit Coach..He was too young and inexperienced for a big time program in a big time city..

    • Don’t confuse youth and inexperience with immaturity and arrogance. Time and age don’t necessarily cure those flaws.

      • With age he will gain experience.. Kiffin is too young to be a leader of men..
I think (My opinion) in time, and under the right coaching staff and he could grow into a good coach.. but he needs to start from ground up, He needs to learn how to develop QB’s, and move up into learning how to manage game plans and offenses.

        TIME!

    • LOL, this may be the dumbest post ever and 3 people agree with what you say making them as dumb as you.

  3. Look, the truth is that over the past 20 years, PC was the ONLY good coach SC had. Strike the PC era and SC’s an average program at best over the same period.

    • What does it tell you about a team if some of their fans are celebrating being ranked after 4 games?

Maybe you should hang a banner that reads, “#11 after 4 games!”

The Clippers also won their first division title last year.

      • I don’t know any bruin fans “celebrating” being ranked right now. If fact, we’ve been ranked all year, and most of last year, UNlike the Trogans. But don’t worry, your program’s MUCH better now that Cookie Monster is in charge!

        • Read the other trolls’ posts on here. Plenty of celebrating as if a NC was won.

Then again, I don’t know any UCLA fans in person acting this way. Even my buddy told me he’s going to wait until they at least beat Oregon or Stanford.

He’s a season ticket holder (gold) and I’m going with him to the Cal game. Last time I went to one of your games, he was asked to sit down after celebrating a touchdown.

I guess golf claps are the norm at the Rose Bowl?

    • Vinny: Is it possible that the two youts–
Judge Haller: Uh, the two what? Uh, uh, what was that word?
      Vinny: Uh, what word?
      Judge Haller: Two what?
      Vinny: What?
Judge Haller: Did you say “yutes”?
      Vinny: Yeah, two youts.
Judge Haller: What is a yute?
Vinny: Oh, excuse me, Your Honor, two youths.

  4. Really enjoyed Keyshawn play at SC but I think he always talks too much without ever offering a solution. In that sense, and if he whined more, he is very Bruin-like but only in that sense.

  5. Sorry Keyshawn, I may not have 20 years left now that Obamacare has taken hold. I need to forget sooner like maybe next week?

          • Trusting the government to run your health care is like giving the city of L.A. 3 billion to fix pot holes The money will get spent on studies trying to decide what part is the pot and what part is the hole. But my comment was a self degrading comment about my age I have spent 50 years watching USC and I doubt I will live 20 years more and if I do whether I will remember anybody

  6. Keyshawn Johnson is a synonym for horses @**. This Idiot was kicked off a Super Bowl team. Tampa Bay didn’t want to wait more than one minute to forget Key the Chump. Anyone who takes anything KJ says seriously is mentally challenged.

  7. i wouldnt mind nathaniel hackett as usc oc he is doing well with no huddle offense for the bills

  8. Even if the years pass and you do forget that Kiffin was coach, there will come a day when you take a bite of a street-meat hot dog, or perhaps a stale stadium nacho… “And suddenly the memory returns.”

  9. I knew I always liked Keyshawn. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t celebrate anyone getting fired, but Keyshawn is right, sc deserves better.
