Tony Dungy Says USC Contacted Him

Former Colts coach Tony Dungy said representatives of USC called his representatives.
“I don’t have any interest,” Dungy said.

“I coached for 28 years and had the best job in football,” Dungy said. “There was a time when it was just over with. I don’t know anything about college football. College football is so different.”
Dungy on Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin: “I don’t know if I would go to USC if I was Kevin Sumlin.”

  1. Thus spoke Tony Dungy. That he wouldn’t take the SUC HC position, even if he was someone else, truly confirms my suspicion that SUC really, really sucks.

  2. Dungy AND Sumlin both gone in one fell swoop!!

trOXans can’t GIVE this job away!!!

oh well, there’s always Defensive Genius Jack Del Taco who can’t even hold the Cowboys to 50 pts!!!

    HAWR-HAWR!

    • No one gives a shlt what your opinion is…..hahaha!!!

I like your new designer eye patch, but I think it has some bird shlt on it…….ouch!!!!

  3. Wolf, go do some research on this…I would like to know who are “representatives”, as I highly doubt it was Pat Haden. I have a feeling it was a booster.

  4. Always respected Dungy, but this seems a little pathetic on his part trying to make this a bigger story than it is. SC didn’t offer him a job, they inquired about if he had any interest. Glad to see SC doing their job. Seriously, does Tony need to put this out there to seem relevant.

      • This is a non-story. In fairness to Dungy, my comments were after reading this before Wolf put up video. The media plays this up like Dungy turned down the job. And he’s a big boy, being paid plenty to be in the media. Don’t think he’s really worried about me “attacking” him.

        • Thankfully rah rahs aren’t in charge of deciding what is a story. Tony Dungy is a high caliber character guy and a winner and it speaks well of Pat Haden that he made contact with him to see if he would consider coming out of retirement for the greatest college football job in the land.

          • since you like to use the term ‘rah rahs’ who exactly is TrojanConquest “rah rahing?” You call is the “greatest college football job in the land” then accuse others of being “rah rahs”? Do you even understand the term?

  5. Attention all fucla trolls:
Red Alert!! USC talking to Sark to bring him Home
Lizzard of West Hollywood Jimbo Mora ready to change colors from baby blue to PURPLE! “His dream job” way to aim high….Mora to Guerrero: “yea I’m unemployed right now so I’ll take your crummy job but hey the minute that Washington job opens up I’m gone!! Haaa Haaa Haa.. how pathetic!!!!!!!

      • Haa haa. no. go troy22.. Just reminding the fucla
trolls where they are in the food chain

          • Wait, are we back in 2005? Or are we in a world where SUC fired its coach after 5 games? Where UCLA’s ranked #11 and climbing? Where the gauntlet belongs to UCLA? Where the Lexus Cup title belongs to UCLA? Where UCLA has titles in BB, FB and now Baseball? Where even the men’s water polo team beats SC? Where Patty Haden begs UCLA’s baseball coach to jump ship only to be shot down. Where recruits are laughing at SC’s program and begging to join UCLA (Nico Falah, anyone)? Yeah, I like the now!

        • That is true, they are riding high this week but they have never been able to keep a decent coach since the 1950s. Mora will be out to the NFL or UW soon enough.

    • LOL. Yeah, we’re so scared. Love how we’re in a world where the only way SC wins is if UCLA loses! Jealous ON!

  6. Hopefully, SC will consider about 25 guys for this job (everyone who might possibly fill the bill) and settle on one by mid-Dec. There will be plenty of candidates who will be happy to say yes to the Trojan challenge and five mil a year. Plenty.

Personally, I would never want Dungy or 90% of the NFL retreads, including Gruden or Del Rio, big splash hires who could be completely wrong for different reasons.

We’ve got forever to pick a good coach. Who gives a crap about what the coaching search looks like now? This coaching search is at the diaper stage.

  7. awwwwwk-kward!!! looks like the Dummies expected Sean Payton and Jim Harbough to be knocking eath other over to get an interview!!! but in reality, people are DUCKING Bounce Pass!!!! don’t call us, we’ll call you, Dummies!!!

    HAWR-HAWR!!

i see the next Southern Cal coach as Bo Pilini!!!! he has the dumb expression that fits so well with Southern Cal!!!!

    • If you are looking for a response, here you go

      8====D<<<<………just keeps the eyes closed!!!!

  8. Here is the first of many, (that Wolf and others in the media will work) the story line – “Who has turned down the USC job”. Remember all those that turned it down before Pete Carroll?

    • Because Little Petey was an NFL loser/failure, he accepted the SUC job just to rehab his reputation and return to the NFL. Which he accomplished, thanks to illegal tactics. If it wasn’t for Little Petey Pom-Pom, SUC wouldn’t saddled with sanctions.

      • Fucing lame!!!
We are all laughing at you

Waste bucket has a stale jockstrap collection, might be your best hope for some support.

  9. The best Coach may be the one at the helm right now, a popular name doesn’t coach a team, a Man coaches a Team. And Ed Orgeron may very well be the “Man” for the job.

  10. [Dungy on Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin: “I don’t know if I would go to USC if I was Kevin Sumlin.”]

Didn’t know Sumlin was offered the job or was/will be contacted.
