Post-Game Thoughts

Ed Orgeron, Silas Redd

It feels like 2009. Or 2008. Or 2007. A happy team. A happy stadium. A happy coach. No talk of injuries or scholarship reductions. Your thoughts?

    • Hey SUC’s

      Very perceptive.

    • gotroy22

Why are you shouting? People that know football saw this victory coming.

      • Joe Blow

        SUC didn’t……..exactly!

      • USConqueror1

        F u. Ur just a bandwagoneer fan.

  • Trojan Hoarse

    The secondary still has issues…..

  • all i can say is thank god we get to play AZ this season.

    • TDOG

Whose your team – The Queensburg Queers?

seriously, bucket. Because after your losses to UW, SU, and UO, you guys will be begging for wins!

      • sureshot32

You forgot add a loss to USC as well. Looks like the bruins are staring down the barrel of four conference losses this year. Oh well, there’s always next year!

Psst – your CAPS LOCK is on.

Gotta learn to finish and some other defense issues but this team took 20 steps forward tonight. The masterful use of the stable of backs, taking shots downfield, this team was very fun to watch. Go Coach O!

  • TroyFan52

Love it. Worst case scenario Orgeron stays on staff as his recruiting knowledge is needed. Great win

  • Chandler

When they get out recruiting this weekend, it’s imperative that they get at least two shutdown corners. These guys are not good at all. But, overall great game. Tough one coming next week.

  • CT Trojan

Exciting win despite nervous ending. Happy for coach O.

    • sureshot32

Su’a Cravens was no great shakes either…. although he’s a true freshman, so he’s got an excuse. Harris has sucked for years.

    • sureshot32

And Dion Bailey too. There’s no excuse to let a guy get behind you with one minute left in the half. I also thought the offense should have taken more time off the board before scoring with two minutes to go. A more experienced coach would have slowed things down and had Kessler run the clock to one or two seconds before snapping the ball.

  • Isaiahdolan

I do think that Arizona’s QB had a few miracles going for him tonight as he eluded the rush and completed some desperate passes. Still, too many receivers slipped past the secondary…

  • TrojanConquest

I can’t help it…I hate Torin Harris. This should have been a blow out, except 14 points thanks to him.

  • Bill

It was only Arizona. Arizona lost that game, you didn’t win it! SuC On!

    • steveg

Bill, it’s a new day, come join us. Az put up a fight, we only dropped three td’s. And to you little man, it’s USC, learn to spell.

  • Bill

Back to days of Agents and runners, steroids / clear, rapes, mayhem! They got to realize that Steve Cooley is no longer the DA and giving them a free pass!

  • Bill

Snoop Dogg will be released after an arrest in a Marquis Lee jersey this time!

    • Trojan Hoarse

      It’s Snoop Lion, you idiot………

  • rusoviet

The breech has been closed! Apathy is gone! Fans are united rather than divided1 A potentially destructive season has taken a turn away from a cliff! A coach who cares and whose players love has been found!

    • Joe Blow

      Only kidding.

  • SaferInWestwood

I don’t know what was more exciting the W vs. AZ or the car chase thru campus!?!?!?

I nominate Ed Orger Gatorade shower for SCUms most memorable moment of the season!!

    • Joe Blow

      Starting to sweat……

      • SaferInWestwood

Profusely down the left side of my sack, Gatorade shower really!?!?!

        Nov. 30 CAN’T WAIT!!!

  • The Capper

First, great game. Second, regardless of whether injuries or schoarship reductions were mentioned or not Scott, it was obvious they influenced the game in the 4th quarter. The defense was absolutely exhausted because they didn’t have the additional bodies to rotate in. That was compounded by injuries on the D side. In the Pete Carrol era his teams owned the 4th quarter because they were three deep in every position with a 3-5 star player. Those days are a few years away. Let’s not get our expectations out of wack here. This is going to be a tough season.

    • Cheap seats

      Some interesting points.

Have you looked at the drive charts for this game?

Although many will say we went back to “SC smash mouth football”, look at time of possession. Uptempo offense is great, but it would be more effective to have time consuming drives of 8+ minutes.

As you mentioned, we lack depth. Us winning lower scoring games may be boring, but it keeps the defense fresh and will wear the other teams D down, especially the spread teams because they often struggle against power offenses.

  • Stu Azole

Haha, good job Trogies! Beating the worst in the PAC and proud of it!

    • Jack B

You should know. You finally beat the Trojans last year when they fielded the worst USC team I have ever seen, especially on D. You’re still crowing about that one victory. What’s it like to be USC’s little baby brother in football? Come on Azole – tell us!

  • WEB_Dupree

And another thing — the crowd was actually bigger than what I was expecting. I think there might have been more people in my section last night than there were at the Utah State game. After that first touchdown, it was like an exorcism had been performed. It was the happiest atmosphere I’ve seen in that place in a long time.

  • B.Miller

Defensive Backs look terrible.. They look undisciplined, confused and lost against a terrible passing QB..

WR / TE dropped too many balls..

but love the game plan and love the play calling.. Got conservative late in the game, but game and clock managed well..

  • Jack B

It’s gonna be a rough ride for awhile. But the team is having some fun again playing for a guy they like. That’s no small thing and they certainly deserve it after what they’ve been through.
