Did Last Night’s Game Prove Lane Kiffin Needed To Go Sooner?

I expected the enthusiasm and loose nature USC displayed last night against Arizona under Ed Orgeron. What I did not expect was the determination to throw downfield so often and use every scholarship skill player.

Getting players like Ty Isaac and Javorius Allen involved helps them. But it also lifts the morale of the entire team. Pat Haden talked about the energy in the locker room.

So doesn’t this mean he should have fired Kiffin a lot sooner?

“It’s only been a week,” Haden said.

  1. It just shows that Orgeron is a back stabber! He could have influenced the Kitten to get his head out of his butt! Karma will come back to bite him when another coach comes in and fires his fat butt.

    • I agree, FOTV…..Would Wolf even be posing this question on his blog had the team been routed last night?

  2. Why do you INSIST upon looking back, Wolf?…We can’t change yesterday….Live in the present…. you may not wake up tomorrow, so why can’t you just enjoy today?……..

  3. Glad you’re happy that Ty Isaac’s red shirt is burned now Wolfie. I vaguely remember you disagreeing with that decision earlier in the year.

You’re right though about how involving all players lifted morale. I used to hate when Carroll would rotate 6 RBs a game. I now understand his reasoning behind it.

    • Don’t you agree that the backfield is too crowded?

In hindsight, Redd should’ve declared his eligibility last year and just settled on being a 3rd+ round pick. After he leaves this year, his numbers might get him to Marc Tyler territory (undrafted FA).

One of these guys might want to transfer.

      • I’d say yes after seeing what Isaac & especially Allen can do. Maybe we’ll see more old school 2 back sets.

  4. Welcome to week 2.

The poor handling of the QB situation during camp and the wave of decommits proved he needed to go sooner.

  5. Scottie, the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror. Look forward, man, look forward.

  6. Agree with Triton. Pete should have gone to the NFL a year or two sooner, also – but enough of the “what should have been” stuff.

  7. Lane Kiffin was the proverbial turd in the punch bowl.

Now that he’s gone, the Koolaid tastes a lot better.

  8. So would Isaac and Allen received playing time if Madden didn’t get injured in Q1? I doubt it.

  9. In other (irrelevant) news, Hey SUCs life dissatisfaction rouses his quest for gratification through strident hindrance of others, in areas where he is unsolicited. He is they type of coward who yells “fire” in a theater and then larks when old Mrs. McLeary gets trampled. While there is no fault in his private, mental masturbation, his clamor is only a façade for the insecurity which plagues him…..and none of us our fooled. Got CLAP bRuin?

      • Joey Latent, I feel sorry for your wife and children. How do they stomach your ugly act?

    • Sell a shack in Fontana today, Toilet Bowl. So you celebrate with bottle of “Ripple,” and peck out a whiney post to improve low self-esteem. The truth is TB you’re a useless individual. Oh, and seek professional help for boil problem.

  10. IMO, firing Lane Kiffin was an overdue issue. But also important, would have been USC fighting a little harder with the NCAA, by suing them.
