105 thoughts on “Who Is USC’s Bigger Rival? Notre Dame Or UCLA

  1. LOL who cares about fucla? Even their own fans would rather spend their own time on USC blogs/articles.

    • The UCLA trolls are completely obsessed with all things related to USC….womens crew, volleyball, water polo, basketball, golf, etc………talk about an inferiority complex….Wolf should post this “Poll” question on Jack Wang’s UCLA blog instead……I think we already know the answer……

        • Like Tom Petty, “Don’t Do Me Like That”………exactly what does the W&L record have to do with this years game?……

    • There’s a reason for that Lose On. Bruins have regular jobs. They don’t have time argue with SUC fans who have no life, no job, no intelligence, and the attention span of a Hummingbird. If SUC was so great, why not withdraw from the P12 and go independent? Answer, no B*LLS.

  2. Who is USC’s biggest rival? Scott Wolf, the cry baby beat writer for the Daily News. He is hated by USC fans more than FUCLA and ND combined.

  3. Chucker….I gotta agree with the Torgan voters on this one. SUCk and N.D. are both in the same “class”. They have identical records, both were prominent in the past, while both programs are currently in a bit of turmoil. They often compete for the same recruits (Ty Isaac), and earlier this year, both schools got DUMPED by Eddie Vanderdoes. I gotta wonder….Where in the heck did those two schools find their Mascots…”Mascots R Us”?
So…let it be done and all of us will now recognize sucks and N.D. as “jealous competing twin girls” (Twin sisters calling each other UGLY is almost as silly as one RAH RAH calling another RAH RAH a RAH RAH!).
My only regret is that they BOTH can’t lose this weekend.
    fit UN Torgans!
(I gotta wonder who Haden will be pulling for?)

    • Wow…. a partial season of “success” seems to have gone to Taco-Mix’s head………

        • Wouldn’t YOU have celebrated a new beginning, too?……You were just waiting to use that one, weren’t you?

          • Celebrating the fact that you didn’t almost tank a big lead against a mediocre Arizona team? After the Kiffin years, I guess that is to be expected! I guess that makes sense at the water polo school!

          • bill, let’s not be too generous here – Arizona is not mediocre. They’re terrible.

        • SuC should at least get a vote in one of the polls before they start proclaiming that they are back and relevant!

          • Precisely who is claiming that “we are back”??? …. the only pole that you should be worrying about is the ceiling-to-floor brass pole that your sister uses to dance on…..

      • When nothing come to mind THearse, you chuck a racial slur to cover your lack of intelligence. A SUC Tea Party tactic. Way to go.

    • How is Ellis McCarthy working out for you?……He looks awfully good in his red “no contact” jersey……

    • Thai, as always you are DEAD ON!!! this rivalry between trOXans ans Rudys always puts Bruins in awkward position of pulling for the obnoxious, pious, Rudys!!!

but going into 2000, the Rudy had dominated, kicking the trOXans a$$es 15 out of 18yrs. the rivalry really died then, due to lack of competition. overall the trOXans have only beat the Rudys 35 out of 84 games!!! embarrassing!!

      • You are an idiot, Chuck Bucket! Why is your life so boring that you sit on these boards and say negative things about our beloved Trojans? You suck, bRuins suck, end of story – go watch some cartoons or go pull your sister’s hair

      • Yup, and you bRuins have only beat USC 29 out of 82 games. You bRuins are 0-4 versus ND. You’re a second class D1 football school, own it & embrace it. Enjoy your current top 15 ranking & 1 (shared) NC in 80+ years. That’s as good as it gets for you.

    • Useless rhetoric once again provided by the mexican/thai prostitute – move on vermin! why do you exist?

    • TM, lets anoint the ND/SUC axis the Tsetse Fly Twins. They are conjoined at the Glutinous Maximus.

  4. USC is 46-29-7 against UCLA, 35-44-5 against ND. For SC fans who is more painful to lose to, for me got to be FUCLA!

    • nah, we can give up 17 losses to fucla before they catch us. I’d rather continue working towards ND. Don’t really care about fucla.

      • there go you trogies again, living in the past. At least Golden Trojen is honest in admitting it’ll hurt more when SC loses to UCLA this year.

    • They may be irrelevant, but don’t you love it when we give them a beat down in any sport but especially football. Speaking of irrelevant, I keep noticing on ESPN’s College Game Day, SC always gets a story, but UCLA is climbing the polls but they don’t talk about them. Probably won’t till the USC game day!

      • GT – Do you happen to know when the last time was that UCLA even HOSTED College GameDay?……yup…. 1998…..the only other team in the Pac-12 with a longer drought is Colorado (1996), and that was before they were even in the Pac-12!

          • What the heck does THAT have to do with the price of tea in China????…. You are totally clueless……

          • Bill, don’t forget that these trojies live in 2006, where life was rosy. They don’t care to acknowledge UCLA’s spot in the polls and their lack of any sort of backbone on the field, but hey, let’s give ’em some space because their program used to be good.

      • Haha, that’s funny. They talk about SC tanking and UCLA winning. The game this weekend, the one everyone is talking about, is huge. It’s not SC/ND though, it’s UCLA/Furd. That’s gotta sting even more than the loss to Wazzu! Wazzu? Hahaha!

        • That’s because it’s only a matter of time until they come crashing back down to earth.

          • The SUC coverage after the Wash. St. loss was very positive. Remember, The Goat promised an improved SUC FB team. The only thing SUC has excelled at this year is Failure.

          • Of course, even your trolling lacks external validity. Following Washington State, USC’s football DID improve. The team fired Kiffin, and the team improved pretty significantly. Your trolling, on the other hand, has simply gotten more nonsensical.

    • Says the irrelevant team who is battling for the cellar of the Pac-12 conference, unranked, with humiliating losses to Wazzu and ASU, completely out of the BCS race in October.

  5. Here’s what the national media doesn’t get about the USC-UCLA rivalry. It’s not just about sports: it pits friends and neighbors against one another. My two best friends growing up were Bruin fans. (One’s been in and out of rehab; the other’s a pole dancer — but that’s not my point.) In LA fandome gets personal. That’s why we’re subjected to idiotic comments from UCLA trolls, who delight in interrupting our otherwise intelligent discussions about USC football. And Scott Wolf’s mediocre journalism.

    • Sportscrabs: You call your opinionated post f*rt intelligent? You’ve have totally missed the point (as usual for lame SUC’ees). SUC sucks. No more, no less.

      • Your posts somehow get dumber by the day.

So what is the point of your posts, other than to interrupt intelligent discussions about USC football with your inane comments? That SUC has detirateded. I hate when I detiratede. I suppose that is what happens when your ability to spell deteriorate rapidly and painfully disappears.

You probably should wait until the word appears on your Word of the Month Calendar before using it. But you do get a gold star for effort. Better luck next time buckeroo!

        • I don’t butt into intelligent discussions. You in particular, have not (as far as I can ascertain) participate in an intelligent discussion or post a coherent though, since I began posting on Wolfisters blog. You’re a jobless half wit looking for attention. That my point.

          • Who is Wolfister? I shudder at the realization that you confuse with Wolf and a fister.

          • Clever. You delete your inane posts. It’s a good strategy. Considering they are are exercises in utterly banal trolling, you should delete them all.

      • SUC sucks?! Wow, what a great point! You’ve really helped me see the light! What do I have to do to become a Brown Bear fan now? Troll Trojan football blogs and make dumb remarks?

        • SUC sucks is too the point. Whether you see the light is irrelevant. I means who cares if you roll, instead of walk.

          • UCLA fans…. are any of you going to claim this guy as one of your own?…..Cal State Northridge, perhaps?…….

          • CSUN grads are almost unanimously drawn to SC sports. They love the mediocrity and the mid-level academics at SC resonate with them.

          • It has become clear that you are all out of material, and now resort to “SUC SUCKS”. You’re pathetic. You should feel bad. Maybe sit out the next few.

          • Hey, SUC (aka UCLA fan)….. I really hate to admit this, but I just skimmed through your 300 posts, which have been made during the last two months, and do you know how many of those were on this blog?……….295…..and do you know how many times you’ve posted on your beloved UCLA blog?…..elementary math should tell you, but I’ll give you a hand….. 5……..yes, 5 whole posts on the UCLA blog compared with 295 posts on this blog……starving for a little attention, are we?……to use your words, you’re a pathetic failure…..

      • He thinks his posts are intelligent, nothing you can do but whine about it. I screwed up here and accidentally read one of your totally juvenile, immature, lame, and moronic posts. Excuse me, won’t happen again.

  6. Haha, trogies will say ND because it’ll help them sleep a bit better come the loss to the Bruins in November!

    • But I do remember USC beating ND by exactly 31 points three years in a row.

Statistically, that’s nearly impossible… pretty freaking cool though.

    • However, I was a little kid in the stands when ND beat USC 51-0 in 1966. Looks like they win the beat-down record by a point…

      • You weren’t in the stands you are so full of crap, the only stands you were in is the handstand position you held while your male cousin played with your balls!
        USC 50 vs UCLA 0 – I WAS THERE

        • Yes, I was there, pUSC, cheering on the Fighting Irish. My dad took me, and I remember Parseghian having O’Brien ready for the injured Hanratty. What a great day–cemented ND has my second favorite team as they CRUSHED pUSC. Oh, and I was there LAST YEAR when we kicked your a$$ up and down the Rose Bowl field. 38-28, tiny dog.

          • November 30th……..I can only hope that UCLA are undefeated and ranked #2 in the country with an opportunity to go to the BCS Championship game….

          • That will be unlikely, consider the next two week’s games. However, I will take 9-2 or 10-1 going into SC week.

          • Wow! A bitter/hater as a little kid. Your dad should be proud. Again a UCLA troll bragging on another team.

          • Not bitter at all. Just had a great time as a wide-eyed kid watching Notre Dame roll over the Trojans. My dad was a UCLA letterman, so you could say I was born into blue and gold.

  7. Since 1980, both rivalries are close. SC leads UCLA 17-14-1, and ND leads SC 16-15-1. SC-UCLA is the greatest cross-town rivalry in the nation. for greatest rival, you have to ask yourself who you hate losing to more?

  8. Notre Dame is the bigger rival but we enjoy playing with the little school every year too. They are so cute in their powder blue. Once in a while they even win one and that’s okay, we are fine with being USC. #1

  9. SC has become irrelevant. I doubt ND even sees this as much of a rivalry game any longer. 7-6 in ’12, snuggled in the cellar of the Pac-12 this year. Will be fun to watch the better, faster, and deeper Bruins pummel Kessler on 11/30. The poor kid will be as lost as a goose in a hailstorm when the best linebacking crew in the P-12 blows through that paper-thin SC line and puts poor Cody in the turf. Mr Kessler, we’d like to introduce you to gentlemen named Barr, Vanderdoes, Fitts, Kendricks, Jack, Zumwalt, and Marsh.

    • For being “relevant”, UCLA are the quietest undefeated, top 10 team in the country………it’s almost as if people are waiting for them to implode…..

      • I’ll be happy if we can split the road trip with Stanford and Oregon. From there, the next big test before SC is Wash. I’ll be thrilled if we are 10-1 heading into SC week.

    • Last year was no fluke……but sustainability will be a challenge……….Mora is off to a really phenomenal start…..and I sincerely doubt that Neuheisel could have accomplished the same thing as Mora with the same talent…..but with all due respect, 11/30 will not tell all, at least not about USC……they are still a head coach and a couple of recruiting classes away from establishing their real identity…..Fight on!

  10. As an L.A. native, and life-long Cali resident, all i can say is that there is no more unique rivalry in the nation than UCLA-USC, with campuses less than 10 miles apart. I’ve got family on both sides of the rivalry, and my SC relatives try to convince me that ND is their bigger rival. That’s cool. All I care about at this point is re-establishing a true rivalry–last year was the first step in that direction.

  11. SC v UCLA is a parochial matter. SC v ND is nation-wide and has been since 1926. Much of SC’s prestige comes from playing and beating ND not UCLA.

    • While ND is arguably the bigger rival, the storied history of SC-UCLA is anything but narrow in scope for longtime fans of both teams. Tell Simpson, Beban, Marinovich, Maddox, Bush, Cowan, Morton, McKay, Haden, Aikman, McNown, and McNight that the crosstown rivalry–the most unique in the nation–is parochial. I believe they would disagree with you.

  12. OK, UCLA fans/trolls……is this just convenient memory lapse, or do any of you remember the 2006 UCLA-Notre Dame game where the Bruins were up 17-13 in the 4th quarter with 2:20 left on the clock at their own 35 yard line……the Bruins are unable to muster a 1st down…..they punt, ND gets the ball on their own 20 yard line with 1:02 remaining…need I say more?…. okay, I will…. Brady Quinn hits Jeff Samarzija and, two missed tackles later, a heart breaking 45 yard score….that was the crowning jewel of the Charlie Weiss “era”……

    • Are you kidding? I still have nightmares about that game. Pat Cowan. Brady Quinn. The Bruins might have sucked that year, but here’s right back at ya with a memory lapse: do you remember the UCLA–SC game just 5 weeks later when a nameless UCLA linebacker named Eric Turner picked off JD Booty to secure the 13-9 win and knock SC out of the national championship game?

      • Touche……..Booty gave it away that year…. he was a tad too short…..the only lasting memory of that game, of a positive nature for USC fans, was the hit that Rey Maualuga made on UCLA QB Patrick Cowan….to Cowans credit, he popped back up as if nothing happened…..

        • I remember that hit. It was possibly the hardest hit I’ve ever seen live… ND might be the bigger rivalry for SC, but the flavor of SoCal’s best players–and families–going head to head is unrivaled. That’s what makes the SC-UCLA series so special…

  13. National Championships: ND 12 or 13 ucla 1/2
Heisman Trophy Winners: ND 7 ucla 1
You tell me who’s a bigger game.
