Man Of Steele

Phil Steele’s All-Pac-12 team also includes USC right guard John Martinez on the third team even though he’s started only three games this season.

But this week’s USC-Notre Dame game is a reminder Steele had USC No. 6 and Notre Dame No. 10 in his preseason poll.

  1. John Martinez? Who’s he?
Re: Phil Steele picking SUCks @ #6 in his preseason poll….MAYBE he actually had them picked #6 in the Pac 12 South Division? “Who Goofed, I’ve got to know?”
    fit UN torgans!

  2. Scott Wolf’s list of USC’s next head coach also includes Oregon State head coach Mike Riley in the top three even though he’s 86-68 (.558) in his career.

      • Wow…. Azz-hole ….are you really this stupid?……the entire All Pac-12 list is Steele’s “quote”…. heck, Scottie even called him a “guru”, even though he was obviously being his usual sarcastic, cynical self……

    • Craig Bohl …. a dark horse, and he may not be cut out for dealing with the LA media, but I like it……

  3. And the last game he started he was blown up by Will Sutton on SC’s very first offensive play.

  4. This is a little like predicting a home run off a first date that resulted in a goodnight kiss– a bit premature

So I will wait until the end of the season to see who is nominated, and I will probably steal away from Steele’s choices.

  5. I thought phil Steele was a complete moron when he picked usc #5 in the pre season, but this confirms it.

  6. Right guard John Martinez is everything wrong with USC’s Offensive Line, I watched him get Manhandled by Defensive Linemen against Stanford and Notre Dame last season as if he was a Rag-doll, and Right Tackle Kevin Graft is average at best. So this Phil Steele Guy must like to hear himself talk or something, because he has no idea what he’s talking about.
