USC Morning Buzz

Joe Raymond/Associated Press

The Trojans were inept offensively in South Bend on Saturday night. Here’s my story on the game, which was an opportunity lost to reclaim the upper hand in the rivalry with the Irish.

“This loss is killing me and I’m trying to hide it,” said USC quarterback Cody Kessler, who looked more down than at any time this season. “It (stinks) it didn’t turn out the way we wanted. We laid if all out there on the field.”

I just woke up from this bad dream where USC lost to a team who had their starting quarterback knocked out early in the second half and the backup didn’t complete one pass, ran for less than 1 yard per carry, and converted one first down.

You mean Gary Beban and Billy Bolden? Hey we won that one ….. man and that was only 46 years ago!

      • realtrojan

Gary Beban…that’s the fella fUCLA and bRUINS have been using as the only source for their miserable “pride” for the last six decades or so, right? LOL!!!

        • steveg

And one big play, Beban to Altenburg.

          • Stu Azole

Lol. Move how Trojies keep talking about UCLA on a SUC blog!

          • Jack B

It beats talking about our crappy team. And it is fun to watch the Little Gutties disintegrate when they are supposed to be so good. Of course, good for the Little Gutties is crap for the Trojans.

          • Stu Azole

5-1 with a loss to Furd is hardly a collapse. And let’s be honest, 5-1 is not only good for SC, but it’s also so far out of reach you don’t even know what to do. Not this year, not next or the next! Haha!

BINGO!!! you hit it on the HEAD, Stu-MEISTER!!!
            they are TOTALLY OBSESSED!!!
WE are just here to SCATTER THE PIECES!!! but the DUMMIES, can only think of the CADRE and UCLA!!!

          • rusoviet

You had to be there man – 1965 painful and the next year Norman Dow 1966 – had to be there – true pain

        • Hey SUC’s

ND 17 – SUC fudgesicles – 13. I know you will be babbling about this SUC loss for years. There BU QB completed zero passes and SUC still lost. RealSUCs are pathetic.

          • Jack B

Trojan fans have written off this season, idiot. You should know what it’s like. You have to do it EVERY YEAR.

          • Hey SUC’s

You obviously didn’t read the pre ND game Wolfster’s post “predict the score.” SUC fans overwhelmingly picked SUC to win. What a SUC FB team performance.

          • marvgoux1

That was good, mind if I use that this week?

      • marvgoux1

No it turns out I wasn’t dreaming. It was last night against our true rival, not fucla.

    • Hey SUC’s

Mind boggling isn’t it? I love it SUC lost; I just couldn’t believe it.

  • Booyakasha

They need to stop giving interviews. Just stop talking. Tired of this nonsense.

  • realtrojan

While the problem lies in the whole team, Kessler doesn’t seem like the one who’s going to shoulder the program and lift it up, either. Right now, he’s not even an average QB in Pac12. I hope Max Browne will be ready soon, because his turn might come around sooner than expected.

    • Hey SUC’s

Right, SUC will burn MB’s red shirt year to save SUC’s glorious 2013 FB season. Next year SUC could resurrect the unfinished business routine.

  • Stu Azole

Hey, at least they get cookies! Flounder On!

  • steveg

You failed to mention your golden boy Lee dropping a touchdown AGAIN. I do not agree with you about the wildcat at the goal line. Some of the holding calls shouldn’t have been called, and ND did some holding of their own. Still, offense sucked.

Wolf is ready to forget Kiffin now and go after Orgeron.

    • gotroy22

Come on rah rah, even our radio announcer Pete Arbogast said the holding calls were all accurate. And there’s no forgetting this was Kiffin’s team last night.

      • rusoviet

As John McKay stated and every coach agrees – there’s holding on every play,

      • Stu Azole

But I thought all was fixed when O gave the guys some cookies and led a cheer when the plane landed? Bwahahahahaha!

  • Hey SUC’s

Just to recap SUC fans, this is a CK quote from inside SUC 10/16. CK states “It’s going to be a wild atmosphere, but I’m going to be level headed.” CK continues “I feel 100 percent in control – 100 percent confident.” Sounds like a Joey Latent and Toilet Bowl two step.

  • gotroy22

The Lost Weekend continues with Matt Barkley throwing his first interception of his career against the Cowboys in relief of Nick Foles.

    • ProbationU

I guess Chip couldn’t get the balls deflated in time.

    • https://www.facebook.com/charles.bucket.3 Charlie Bucket

      try THREE INT’s Goo-Goo!!!!!

  • MISTERUSC

Let’s just hope the new head coach gives Brown a solid look. Good quarterbacks find a way to lead their teams to a victory.

  • B.Miller

I’m tired of watching SC offense get bullied.. they play way to soft for big boy football.
