Does Miami Matter To You (Or USC)?

With the NCAA set to announce its sanctions of Miami tomorrow, does it matter to you what the penalties are? Or more precisely if Miami gets lesser penalties than USC will you be upset? The penalties will once again draw comparisons to USC and some fans will again clamor for protesting to the NCAA.

  1. It certainly would be nice if one or more of the major FBS schools coaches or AD’s would make a public statement noting the injustice of how USC was judged compared to anyone else – at a minimum if only to force others to understand how truly unfair this penalty was in the first place.

  2. if Miami had an Asst Head Coach* serving as architect of a scheme to take in hundreds of thousand$ in illicit benefits, with the tacit complicity of the Head Coach, like Southern Cal did, then yes, they should get similar sanctions.

    • Bucket.. I’ve ignored your nonsense for years and the above tripe is a great example of why you deserve no response.

      • it’s hard to respond to the bitter truth sometimes, i know. some people CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!

nice job on ignoring me, though. so you’re a little scared. it’s OK to be scared sometimes (just don’t be scared of EVERYTHING like a Republican!!!)

it doesn’t mean you’re not a man or anything like that.

        • You have to actually post the truth for it to be respected. Not the above type of tripe that you dearly wish to be factual. That is in part why I, for the most part have no time for you.
Oh, and you’d have to know me to fairly assess my fears. You’d be surprised.

      • HA! Finally someone with reason.. the only reason why these lames are on here is because people entertain their ignorance

    • Put down the report and pick up that mop. Your boss wants his Burger King to have the cleanest floors in the IE.

      • What last laugh? Who cares about that dog torturer when our sanctions run out in February?

  3. I’s assume that USC’s fans will probably end up pissed off once again, especially since their latest appeal was soundly rejected and that they all were in disbelief when all the other sanctions that have followed the injustice done to them at the hands of Paul Dee and his infractions committee were far more lenient. I do wish that Paul Dee was alive to face the disgrace of this Miami situation though.
I’d be near the head of the line that thinks that Miami deserves to be shut down for 10 years! All the players currently enrolled should be given a get out of jail card immediately. This probably won’t happen however, as Coach Golden was in association with the NCAA prior to taking over at Miami and would have probably been assured that the program would still exist.. The fact that the NCAA’s star infractions guru, the hypocritical Paul Dee was the spotlight of the Miami program during the infractions will make anything less than “worse than USC’s infractions” seem to just be a joke.

  4. Paying for stripper abortions, fraud in Pell grants, and much more. One scholarship loss over two years.

  5. I think it will help any case of a federal suit vs the NCAA for no precedence if Miami gets off like Ohio St and Oregon.

What should be a topic is how a former Bama player served as a runner for funds to players around the SEC. This is a alumni for Bama that was allowed to be in the locker room and off season activities. Then an asst. coach gives a player $500 because his car was broken in to.

The player leaves his phone, ipad, money and personal belongings in a car overnight and gets stolen. Have you ever seen a kid leave their phone none the less their money in a car overnight. More importantly, if this kid has this kind of stuff why would he out of all people ask a coach for it? Or accept it form a coach? Why not a family member, friend or post-pone the visit to avoid penalty.

These are contributing factors in to why USC fans pay attention to Ohio St, Oregon, Miami, LSU, North Carolina… for the penalties they get.

If a child gets the belt for taking a cookie, it is only human nature to see what will happen when other kids do the same thing. Only this kid watches others get slaps on the hand.

  6. I don’t care anymore. The University bent over ant took it from a “volunteer” organization. If they knew there was no merit to the charges they would have left the NCAA and administered their own scholarships. For those who yell who would you play? Like minded independent schools would probably follow suit once the dam is broken. The NCAA would become irrelevant…BUT it aint going to happen so I don’t care anymore.

  7. $C and Miami have much in common. Interesting that the judge who most recently ruled in favor of McNair was an $C grad. I am sure he was impartial. Never thought to recuse himself?

Miami should get the book thrown at them. The same or worse than $C. Birds of a feather.

    • The only birds of a feather here are you and your fellow Little Gutty trolls. Think I’d be caught dead trolling some Bruin site? Why? Would I need to punish the Bruin faithful somehow?

You’re an official weirdo Proby. Get some help from a recovering full-blown narcissist.

      • Your are on the Bruin site Joe Blow. If you aren’t Joe Blow, then I am incorrect. However, you are right. You are a superior human being from the University of Plausible Deniability. After more than a decade of braggadocio, running up scores and the general everyone is just jealous of us attitude, you are now acting like a little victim. Take your medicine, hire a coach and move on.

    • Sorry amigo ‘but’ Jonnie Wooden never had a justifiable shutdown of his program on his watch – no championships taken away on his watch – no public investigation and exposure on his watch. A corrupt program with a ‘made man’ Sam Gilbert who routinely threatened sports writers lives if they ever published what they knew about him and his talons deep in the corrupt corpse of u¢la.

No instead the good ole’ NCAA went after Tarkanian – u¢la will always be dogged by one of the most corrupt mens BB program never brought to justice.

  8. Yep – they deserve to lose at least 30 scholarships and a couple of additional years of bowls.

  9. Three rides a year and all ‘Canes are forced to listen to daily tapes of admonishment from ProbyU. No wait. Much too severe. Nobody deserves such a Draconian measure of judgment!

      • You’re usually USC’s bitch, weirdo. That’s the actual truth (just check the scores proby) but you can’t stand your inferior stature.

        • You’re like that guy in the movie “Stripes.” Says, my name is Francis, but my friends call my psycho. Any of you call me Francis, I’ll kill you. Any of you guys touch my stuff, I’ll kill you. Sgt Hulka says, Lighten up Francis.

Guess the present and the future has you down. Just take extra beer to your tailgate and listen to Bruce Springsteen sing Glory Days over and over again.

          • Narcissists like you proby never like getting pushed around, especially when you’re always looking for validation from the enemy. USC’s extreme glory days have been ongoing against the Little Gutties for 14 years. When we beat you as often as we do, one loss doesn’t even matter. Boo Hoo…Sorry you won’t get to USC’s home away from home this year again. You’re never good enough, Little Gutty.

          • The future belongs to USC proby. You just don’t know it yet. Not surprising but very fitting: I never did like hugely over-rated, clanky Jethro Tull. Silly Stripes didn’t age well and Springsteen’s an Obama lover who could always use a shower.

          • Based on the comment the future belongs to $C, then “Dream On” by Aerosmith wold be more appropriate. Sonnds like you could listen to it with Ted Cruz.

          • Ridiculous. Wide Right. But at least Trojans can dream as we have been there many times before and aren’t stuck in an underachieving Teenage Wasteland. Forces are at work for the Trojans. You just don’t know it yet.

          • Actually it’s called Baba O’Riley.but nice try with the Who reference. Tough part about being a Trojan is that all you care about is football, and once that is gone..well it’s pretty tough. More likely you will get a Paul Hacket, Larry Smith type of coach and the 25 years of life before Pete cheated his way to importance will return. Hope on? or When You Wish Upon A Star…old Disney style.

          • Calhoun just decommitted, taking your stellar recruiting class down to eight players. But hey, your class is still ranked #9–in the Pac 12. That’s a great foundation for the future ya got there, Jackie.

        • Nice choke against Waz-Zoo. And the Irish. And the Sundevils. “Inferior stature” pertains to just one team in the L.A. basin, and everyone in the room knows it now, don’t they Jack? But all is not lost: you guys just might eek out a 6-7 regular season record and be granted permission to return to the Drug Cartel Bowl. Inferior stature–that’s funny. 38-28.

  10. If punishing Miami would somehow help SC, than I would be all for it

    Otherwise, I’m not interested

  11. Those poor current players should be left alone! I hope the NCAA recognizes that the perps have suffered enough and just let things be!

  12. Initial report by ESPN: No bowl ban?….loss of 9 scholarships over 3 years?…..I guess their self imposed sanctions and the incompetence of the NCAA helped their cause. ..

  13. Miami – three scholarships per year over the next year but no ‘bowl ban’ – ESPN.

  14. Miami skates! Only 9 scholies, no bowl sanctions! Somewhere Paul Dee is enjoying a good laugh at our expense.

  15. Doesn’t matter. We have an AD that is more concerned about his persona than what happens to SC. It’s a travesty. But SC Athletics, even though we are going down the tubes, will survive and when we get an AD that really cares, we will be back. Until then, glub, glub, glub.

  16. No bowl ban, 9 total scholies over 3 years, life is good for The U.. . LMAO!!

“They’re just jealous they can’t be USC” – MG

  17. It’s all coming to a conclusion and nobody cares anymore and why should they ? Finishing the season with a winning record and perhaps a profitable Bowl game comes to mind more then anything else. And let’s not forget the search for a great coach that will take the program to new heights .

  18. Well there is nothing USC can do about it now.. Its almost over and we just have to start fresh..
thanks to the NCAA. Other teams in the Pac 12 have been allowed to catch up..
