TE Xavier Grimble Wants To Try To Play Against Utah

Tight end Xavier Grimble said he sprained his ankle against Notre Dame and wants to try and practice by Thursday with hopes of returning for the Utah game. Ed Orgeron said the trainers had told him Grimble was out so we will see if this materializes.

In other injury news, offensive guard Jordan Simmons tore knee ligaments Monday in a “freak accident” and is out for the season. Wide receiver Marqise Lee did not practice but ran without cutting Tuesday and is day-to-day.

Linebacker Lamar Dawson was on the training table at the end of practice and limping slightly. Walk-on Taylor Ross suffered a possible broken leg and was carted off the field during practice.
