USC Down To 39 Healthy Players?

USC used 53 players against Notre Dame. Of those 53, 14 were unable to start and/or finish practice today.

One of my key sports arguments is that football should be abolished, and one day it will be,but just not in our lifetime.

Yeah, I have gotten thrills over the years, perhaps more than some fans, but this “game” is violent, dangerous, and does not produce good sportsmanship among its participants.

Besides, it is now mainly played by African-Americans and watched predominately by white Americans, so what does that you remind you of all you 19th Century history majors?

Multi-million dollar paydays vs. forced, unpaid labor…yeah, pretty similar.

So you are a USC football fan but want football abolished? What a loon!

when you need a lawyer, real bad………….

Wow you are really a deep thinker. Would it be better for you if African Americans weren’t allowed to play football with white Americans? Soccer is violent, dangerous and does not promote good sportsmanship among its participants, should it be banned also?

The thing you forget is the love the players have for the game. Yeah it’s a violent sport but there is nothing like the thrill of playing it. Many of the top FB athletes were also top athletes in other sports but they choose FB despite the risk & lower average pay.

I wouldn’t go so far as to compare it to Mandingo fighting. All races are well represented from the pop warner level to the HS level.

Hockey is also a violent sport (played & watched by mostly Caucasians). The players love the game though and are aware of the risks involved.

The NFL claims that average length of a career in the league is about 7 years whereas the NFL Players Association says it’s more like 3 years, obviously skewed in order to negotiate and justify higher salaries

So whatever happened to that idiot “USC owns the Rose Bowl” I haven’t seen him posting lately…or that other moron “Our 75 are better than your 85”?

    1. We are talking college football players, most of whom think they will make money in the pros one day, but only 100 out of 10,000 make it each year (1%).

    2. America is the only place football is played; the other football (soccer) is hardly on the same level of violence as the U.S. sport. And, yes, one day a more highly developed society will look back and wonder how it could have allowed this game to become a part of its culture

    3. Yep, I can live without the game. And so can you. Quite well, actually

    • Not so fast, counselor, the Cadre finally beats Southern Cal Football down into croth kick position and you want to emoblish the sport of football???

that is NOT FAIR!!!! (and frankly, the Cadre won’t let it happen)

      • TrojanFan
