What Issue Do You See For USC?

If I left an issue off the list for the poll question below that you think bothered USC more, feel free to post it here.

  1. How fortunate the program was to have Ed Orgeron there to ‘man the gap’. The guy is so pumped regardless of what happens to him – he truly loves the school and the team and the feeling is reciprocal.

  2. Poor local media coverage, LA Times is a joke and only seem to want to bury the team at times, while the Daily News beat writer seems to think Lane Kiffin is still the head coach and a relevant topic on daily basis

    • I believe you’re wrong – the Times has been very generous re. team coverage – front page of the Sports section today and columns a plenty re. the state of the program throughout this season. UCLA would never get this kind of coverage because there isn’t any national interest in it – ESPN, Fox SI, CBS Sports etc. have written incessantly about the program and that’s because it is either loathed or loved unlike the other one across town.

      • I could be, I’m not a regular reader of the Times lately, mainly because their writers haven’t been great and Bill Plaschke is one of them. The television media is a whole other topic…

        • I agree because I don’t watch the ‘tv’ scribes especially local reporters – most of them would never take a stand nor break a story that is sports radio’s turf.

BTW Doink I am really find Cowherd beginning to be irrelevant – he has that booorish @$$ ‘Mark (everyone loves the Lakers) Willard’ shilling for 30 minutes of each hour and frankly Dan Patrick is far more interesting which I sense Cowherd knows but won’t admit – kind of like ‘Obama’ and any scandal his incompetency has created.

        • The OC Register isn’t bad or at least it wasn’t until they started to charge for online content Then I have no idea how they are doing. In the I.E. we get Wolf reruns

  3. 3 Issues:
    1) Poor offensive line play including technique & penalties
    2) Average to Poor QB decision making & play
    3) Poor tackling on defense – in particular against ASU
If those are all “excellent” – we’re not having this discussion

  4. Orgeron is a natural on t.v. unlike the other “shy-guy” coach.
Wonder what he has to do to win the job.

  5. It starts with AD Pat Haden. Rumor has it he wants Emmert’s job at the NCAA. His biggest situation is a football coach who will replace Pete Carroll. Kiffin was just a bubble waiting to burst. Haden needs a head football coach who will capture SC supporters like Pete did and the success of John McKay. He’s got a yeoman’s task given part of the alumni feels he dropped the ball when facing the NCAA. During this time, recruitment has become difficult without a new HC, and the numbers of players on scholarship has become very thin.

  6. Second half lapses and/or lack of adjustments. Bonehead penalties and turnovers go without saying.

  7. Attitude. The swagger. Knowing how to win. Confidence.
I think coach O is working on that now.
