Two More Walk-Ons Join USC

USC added two walk-ons to its depleted roster: WR David Mellstrom of Virginia Tech and WR-TE Robert Flewelling of Pasadena. Mellstrom was a walk-on wide receiver at Virginia Tech in 2011 and  2012 redshirt freshman, but did not play.

YEAH! Get those kids a jersey and put them in coach!
Thanks NCAA, look at what you have done!

I hear the lead cheerleader has a couple of years of eligibility now that Kiffin is gone….who knows

How is she at turning the laces facing in during a field goal attempt?…..

      • trojandude207

I doubt the kicker will look at the ball if she’s holding it. Unless she is Lucille Vanpelt

        • Trojan Hoarse

Hey, I could’ve asked if she was any good as a long snapper….. LOL

          • trojandude207

I am not going to touch that one might earn an extra day in purgatory if I did…

        • marvgoux1

          LOL!

  • gillyking

Hammond from the OCR just tweeted where the NCAA is not going to clear Mellstrom. Go figure.

    • Trojan Hoarse

He is obviously our secret weapon and the NCAA figured to out….. whew!…. another “scandal” averted

      • gillyking

Yeah, he was going to walk-on, win the Biletnikof and save the season.. NCAA could have none of that lol

      • Stu Azole

So true. EVERYONE at the NCAA is out to get SC, mainly because ESPN loves the SEC. Just follow the money here! Related, it appears the NCAA was also behind 9/11 and the terrible ending to the Sopranos.

        • Trojan Hoarse

So you think that the NCAA sanctions handed down to Miami were fair?

          • Arturo

Stu doesn’t realize that the NCAA isn’t one big organization, it is a collection of individuals whose track records seem to suggest that agendas are at the heart of everything they do.

          • Trojan Hoarse

            Exactamente………..

          • TrojanFamily

To be specific, it is a member organization made up of current athletic directors at universities. Of course they have their own agendas. Are they out to get USC? Who knows, but it takes a pretty damned myopic troll to not recognize their total lack of consistency. They can be schmoozed into accepting self-imposed penalties (like with Miami) and they exhibit one of the most classic bureaucratic pathologies in refusing to be held to their own precedents (a point the NCAA is quite to make whenever the COI meets). The latter is a sign of ineptness.

I don’t think the NCAA explicitly is out to get USC, But to not recognize them as both corrupt and inept is just to bury your head in the sand.

            Thanks.

Miami was a joke, you are right. Death penalty would have been my vote. That said, SUCsters seem quite united in the idea that everyone hates SC and that alone drove the sanctions.

Scott, unless I’m mistaken, Bobby Boucher still has three years of eligibility left. You need to chase this hot lead down. This could be your big break buddy.
