USC Women’s Soccer Coach Ali Khosroshahin Fired

Pat Haden fires his second coach of the fall. Women’s soccer coach Ali Khosroshahin won a national title in 2007 but his teams were under .500 the past three seasons.
“We wish Ali well and thank him for his dedicated service in bringing the first NCAA women’s soccer title to USC and to the Pac-12 in 2007,” Haden said. “But based on the past few years, we felt it was time to go in a new direction. We need to reinvigorate our program and get back to contending for NCAA and conference championships.”
Said Khosroshahin: “I would like to thank USC for the privilege and opportunity to lead the women’s soccer program, and I wish them all the best in the future. It was tremendous to be part of the Trojan Family.”

Gotta love these kind words written for public consumption (or is it constipation)

What they really wanted to say:
Haden: The turkey got lucky 6 years ago, and what has he wrought after that– nothing. Do away with him. Let him eat cake

Ali: Probably fired me because I wouldn’t change my name; And what did Haden ever do for the university except win one more national title than I did– and that was 40 years ago in 1972 and 1974. And who remembers that except for a few diehard SUCLA fans on this blog
