Ed Orgeron’s stock is at an all-time high. Should he get a serious look at being the permanent coach? Will Pat Haden give him a chance? All legitimate questions today.

How can he not give Coach O a good, long look? The results he’s producing demands that. If he wins out, the job should be his. If he beats Stanford, or UCLA, he still may get the job.

    • Saul Goodman

Agree. Short of a hire like Shaw or Gruden (which won’t happen), the job should be Coach O’s (assuming he at least splits UCLA and Stanford)

      • TrojanFan

He seems to be passing the eye test!

        • Saul Goodman

          Absutely

      • steveg

Shaw? He is never leaving Stanford. Gruden is the man.

  • TroyFan52

He’s gotta be given serious consideration. What he’s done with a depleted roster and the mess that Kiffin left, is incredible. Who says Kevin Sumlin would be better??? Lovie Smith??? I think Stanford and UCLA wins seal the deal. Or st least should in my opinion…..

  • TrojanFan

You’re fucing pathetic, dude! You can’t find your a$$hole from a hole in the wall!

  • Saul Goodman

Just imagine if SC had won the very winnable game at ND

    • TrojanFan

“Just imagine if” we could start the season over with the team we have right now. But #48 needs to get his shlt together

    • marvgoux1

Every game we lost was winnable. The firts half of the Scummie game we gave away two touchdowns in the first half missing a wide open receiver and then fumbling as we drove to another score.

  • Booyakasha

    Only if we beat Stanford

    • TrojanFan

The game will be a great spot for an underdog

      • Booyakasha

Outside of that, Stanford’s front 7 held Oregon to less than 100 rushing. If we don’t run the ball, we lose. Our kicker is positively horrible. He can’t make more than 35 yds. Our corners are still getting burned. Too many things need to go right for us to win next week. I say keep running the Buck. Love the kid.

  • tigerbalm2010

Stop with the exaggerations Scott…Ed’s stock isn’t “all-time high” quite yet. If he can beat Stanford AND ucla (and not stumble in Colorado), there is no doubt it will be at an “all-time high” and Haden will have no choice but to hire Ed….assuming John Gruden declines.

I said it before the measure of a coach is not how well the 5 star players do, but how well the team does when they’re hurt. Now I can say we know both with most of the starters back at kickoff and the game was all down hill. Orgeron played so many people he got flagged for having 2 #28s on the field. No prediction for next week here but I like what I see.

    Bring on ‘Bama.

    • SaferInWestwood

      LMAO!! That was great.. .

      • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

almost as great as watching fucla get DESTROYED by Stanford and Oregon in back to back weeks!

        • SaferInWestwood

Not nearly as entertaining as losing to WAZZU at HOME and getting DESTROYED by ASU!! Hey on the bright side SC is now Bowl elgible since the NCAA didn’t acknowleged Hawaii… .Ooops

          • TrojanFan

            Don’t forget 12-2, enough said!

trOXans talkin’ ’bout wins agin’ Stanford and UCLA???

    HAWR-HAWR!!!!

No way in a million years Boozy Elf hires the Cookie Monster!!!! And the sweeetest part is the players will resent the new coach after all the cookies and burgers!!!

    • Joe Blow

Look who’s back with the YAP as big as his pig’s @$$? Did fucla beat Stanford? Oregon? Go F yourself.

    • Joe Blow

BTW, @$$hole, fucla is BEHIND SC in the South!

    • TrojanFamily

Your lack of knowledge of the game of football is staggering.

      • TrojanFan

        Dementia is some nasty stuff!

    • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

aw look, he thinks UCLA is actually a good football team!

  • steveg

Obviously Wolf you didn’t hear AD Haden say Orgeron is being considered for the job. Where you been. I know you didn’t get it from “sources”, so I am sure you didn’t believe what everyone else is reporting. But then you usually report what everyone else has already reported. I can’t believe bucket even showed up,. he usually lays really low after we win a game.

    • Joe Blow

      He’s a first class turd.

  • peter

The game was FUN to watch. loved all the big plays and such. We expected this!!! last week is where coach O’s stock rose and he just added to it. We are still at same place, how will we play against the duck beaters and and against the must win game with ucla?O is fantastic right now, but the permanent coach must dominate!!!! All teams.

  • ATrojanFan

I love the momentum, but reality check: Stanford’s lines are almost as good as Bamas. We will have an extremely hard time winning the trenches next week. The game will be determined in the trenches, and Stanford has beat us the past 3 years in the trenches.

    • marvgoux1

Exactly. The dirty Hippies of Kal are not even a good JC team right now. I’m happy for Ed and the kids but next week will tell the tale. The Scummies escaped with a win today at Utah so our window to win the Pac South will close if we lose to the Indians.

  • Ted

oregeron is a temp…cant be serious about him?!? look up his record at Ole miss…

    • marvgoux1

He’s grown quite a bit since then.

      • TrojanFan

        EXACTLY!

    • TrojanFan

George Seifert was fired as an Ivy league, then went on to win Super Bowls with the 49er’s

      Nice try, Teddy!

      • Ted

you can disagree but dont call me teddy…In my opinion Orgeron is not a head coach kind of coach.

  • MISTERUSC

Should the Cookie Monster win out, Haden may have some long sleepless nights. Stanford will be the tell tale story in prime time next Saturday night. FIGHT ON!

  • Nemesis

Orgeron is not USC head coach material. This team should be winning against the likes of Cal, Utah and Arizona. Did we forget all the four and five star recruits.

Coach O. may be a great recruiter. He may be a great line coach. He may be a good coordinator. But USC needs a high profile, experienced college head coach. Orgeron just doesn’t have the “Q” rating necessary to be the head coach at USC.

  • Helen

It’s a good thing USC didn’t take Scottie’s advice and fire the special teams coach.

  • B.Miller

If he doesnt someone else will come and get him,.,.
He needs to work at keeping EO at all cost..
