Question – assuming USC trumps lowly CO and beat UCLA next Saturday evening ‘and’ AZ St. somehow beats Stanford – what bowl does USC get? Are they now 2nd? For that matter flip it – Stanford beats AZ St. again where does USC find itself? Are they then 3rd?

Replies welcomed – BTW next year when the new BCS deal goes through the local bowl representatives of the 6 major bowls (Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Peach and Orange) no longer have control as to gets assigned to their bowl – go figure.

If USC wins out they can still be invited to a BCS game. Fresno St & NIU would have to lose though. The BCS has the right to invite SC over whoever loses the Pac12 championship.

        And if Oregon beats OSU?

Oregon can also be invited but SC would be a more attractive invite for the BCS (the hot team). Of course Fresno St. & NIU still have to lose to open up a spot for a second PAC12 team.
