Tim Floyd-Andy Enfield Near Altercation

There are reports emerging from the Bahamas that former USC coach Tim Floyd and current USC coach Andy Enfield got into a heated argument today at a reception for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

USC assistant Tony Bland reportedly needed to be restrained from going after former USC and current UTEP assistant Bob Cantu. All of this stems from Floyd’s charge USC tampered with UTEP player Isaac Hamilton, who eventually left the Miners and enrolled at UCLA.

  1. Unbelievable on Floyd’s part no matter what the scribes report – this guy just cannot let it go and wonders why (as all of us do) he is where he finds himself – emotion takes over and then the regret for what was said – envy is a cruel mistress fed by anger and sadly assumes mulling ‘payback’ has no sad end.

    • Sadly Enfield needs to grow up and cease getting his ‘thoughts’ printed or recorded for publication – seems he’s going to be spending time with Haden just as O’Neill did if he doesn’t knock it off.

      • Well, this is the most excitement SC basketball has created since OJ Mayo. At least Enfield is fired up.

      • And in SUC’s corner wearing Cardinal and Gold: Andy “the FGC Brawler” Enfield and his choo-choo posse. SUC hired a cheap thug to direct SUC’s pee wee BB program.

        • Agree with Hey SUC. Us baby blue bruins did much better getting a coach with integrity who will defend his players no matter what they do and still able to have a stellar tournament win/loss record. Well Done!

      • You are right rusoviet. One incident is a fluke, a series is a pattern. And this is the umpteenth kerfuffle before we’ve even played one Pac 12 game. We saw the same thing with Kiffin, initially we all hoped it was meaningless or sour grapes or the fault of those reacting to it, but eventually all but the Sunshine Pumpers saw that it was a character defect. You just don’t see this from stable coaches. I had a bad feeling Enfield was a man on the make with the cover girl wife looking to use us as a steppng stone to fame and fortune and he has done nothing to dissuade me. He truly believes in the old adage “Any publicity is good publicity.”

  2. Hamilton saw right through the gangster mentality at usc and chose the best university overall. He’s a smart guy.

It’s disgraceful that Cantu got shoved and that he’s being treated with so much disrespect after all his years of service and devotion to usc. This is a huge embarrassment for sc.

  3. WTF??!! This is ugly. Floyd hasn’t made the best decisions, but this is a lot of disrespect towards him. These young coaches shoving Cantu are punks!

  4. Surprise, surprise. Andy’s people are taking a meeting with Leno’s guest scheduler. But Andy wants more money for a second Leno Show appearance.
