USC Morning Buzz: End Of Pete Carroll Era

There are only seven USC players left who played for former coach Pete Carroll and they play their final game at the Coliseum today when the Trojans host crosstown rival UCLA.

Several already thought about walking up the Coliseum tunnel for the final time in their college career.

“I told myself I would try not to cry,” linebacker Marquis Simmons said. “It’s a hard thing to do.”

Extra Security For USC-UCLA Game

With the crosstown rivalry tomorrow, the schools announced their will be increased security at the game. There will be extra personnel and increased bike patrols, among other measures. If fans have questions or see anything of concern, they can call the Fan Behavior Hotline at 213-765-5291 or text COLISEUM and the issue and location to 69050.

Wake Forest 77, USC 63

The Trojans were down 16 points at halftime and never really in this game. Byron Wesley scored 12 points for USC (4-3). No West Alabama in this tournament yet. USC plays Xavier tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Time to pick a winner in the crosstown rivalry. USC is a 3.5-point favorite over UCLA. Momentum is definitely with USC. But can they handle a mobile QB? That’s been a perennial issue. The Trojans are probably healthier than at any time this season.
