Pete Carroll Consulted In USC Coaching Search

USC athletic director Pat Haden said he consulted Pete Carroll during the coaching search. This is not surprising because Carroll loved to be involved in coaching searches.

  1. With Mora in Seattle, the UCLA AD called Pete for Advice. His immediate answer was “Hire Lane Kiffin”. Ed O will prove to be the big winnner when the dust settles.

    • Dude… Mora is staying. Check that newfangled device on your computer called Google….

    • Huh? What are you smoking or are you in some time warp? Newsflash! Mora signed a 6 year extension with UCLA this afternoon @ 2:00 pm PST worth $3 mil per year for him.

Poor Ed is beginning to realize how foolish he was in going nuts when he didn’t get the HC job even though Haden was prepared to make him the highest paid assistant in the USA >$1 mil –

Some posters who root for other schools claimed the idea of ‘Trojan Family’ was a lie i.e. so much for loyalty – sad thing Ed himself showed such when he left the team before thew bowl game was played and now understands a decision based on emotion is the worst possible outcome for all.

        • The Athletic Department is a business enterprise within the university that makes and raises its own money. The taxpayers money does not go to the Athletic Department. However, I am sure donations are tax deductible.

And by the way, I am sure that private donations to the Athletic Departments at private universities are tax deductible as well, therefore the taxpayers are helping fund those departments too..

          • Any more reasoned responses and they may kick you out of the Bruin Alumni Assn. However, it would be very naive to believe that there are not “soft” and hidden subsidies at the expense of the taxpayer along the line of the Senate barbershop and gym.

      • Open to the fact that I could be wrong Comrade…being that the biggest fights most of us have are inside the family, so to speak. My guess is that Ed felt very betrayed and misled by Haden. And my guess would also be that the timing of everything was so quick that one could easily come to the conclusion that it had been arranged in advance. After all, Haden had 2 months to work on this and probably put the finishing touches on things Sunday…very soon after the UCLA game.

Ed came to the conclusion that he was not seriously considered…at least that is what I assume. And believing in the “family”, he felt betrayed by the “family” and reacted emotionally.

        • Well newflash boyo, you were the one who very quickly went overboard mocking the concept of ‘family’ after it was revealed that Pat haden had decided to look elsewhere. You never waited for the facts – just looking for something to pounce on.

Orgeron made a huge mistake in leaving – won’t be there to coach the kids through the bowl game – acted on emotion and got the result that emotion pays out – ‘rien’ ‘nada’ ‘butkes’ – you’re right about one thing Haden had decided it wouldn’t be Orgeron and based on Ed’s outrage Pat was right.

  2. Love Pete just wished he had the same interest back in 2010 when the sanctions hit – then again USC took the full total hit unlike a certain historic mens basketball program that to this day was never fully impacted for conduct that ran for 11+ years – no instead over there they erected a mausoleum and a docent ‘in situ’ – they play “Oh come let us adore him..” every hour on the hour.

  3. When did Pete and Ed have their falling out? First he doesn’t hire Ed for his staff in Seattle and now this…no wonder Ed was so upset.

  4. I really don’t comprehend some of those self-proclaimed Trojan fans that talk badly of Pete Carroll. This man has won two national titles, multiple Rose Bowl Championships, and created three Heisman Trophy winners (minus one, if the one by Bush is not counted), He simply had an unprecedented run at USC, and he should be put on the highest pedestal by all Trojan fans, regardless of all the NCAA sanctions that were designed by those who hated USC.

  5. some search … Suckisian has been Pete’s favorite kiss butt for years. Who do you think Pete would recommend

  6. Oh and thanks Pete for creating these two morons Kiffin and Suckisian … these guys are like a bad rash that won’t go away

  7. PC is my idol. I actually name my son Peter because of him. His Energy, his enthusiasm, his can do attitude is contagious. Love this style. Seattle is lucky to have him.
