Timing Is Everything

I’ve heard some rationalizations that USC was forced to make a quick decision on the coaching search because of recruiting, etc. All the more reason to fire Lane Kiffin after last season. Recruiting turned out to be basically finished by the end of the season and a search could take as long as necessary.

  1. Deep thoughts Wolf, er, Charlie *ucket. Good thing you don’t read comments on your blog. Hey *ucket, War time!

  2. Fire Lane after last season? Ok, then say goodbye to Su’a Cravens, Justin Davis, Kenny Bigelow, Max Browne & Ty Isaac. They would have opened up their recruiting immediately. Wolfie, stick to crappy beat writing.

    • Doesn’t SuC have enough overhyped, under-achieving players? Zach Banner being the “leader” of the group! They could let some go!

      • Yet again, a troll is clueless. Have you seen Cravens play?

Hey, remember when you were so happy about Fitts? What has he done other than being a girl?

          • What did McCarthy do against SC? LOL. Threw your OL around like little girls. And Fitts played, just underwent surgery. UCLA’s freshmen crushed the trogans this year. O and D Freshman of the Year! BOOM!

          • UCLA 35 -suc 14. That score won’t change Condom fan. And in the end that what counts. The Bell resides at Pauley Pavilion. Boomski.

          • Fitts was quiet this year due to injury, but your ignorance is showing if you don’t know that McCarthy had a great year, getting tons of PT on the DL, and playing like a stud against pUSC with 4 solo tackles.

          • 70th in the nation in run defense. He was a great contributor….nice try….haha!

PS….you are trying way too hard, again! no cares what you have say….save it wang’s blog

        • Cravens? Wasn’t he the PAC’s D Freshman of the Year? Oh, no, that was a LB from UCLA! But USC had the PAC’s O Freshman of the Year, right? Oh, wait, that was UCLA too!

          • The stupidity here from the UCLA trolls kills me.

USC had three players go all-conference. UCLA had two.

Also, don’t be stupid and think that Jack is going to continue on both side of the ball – not long term, not on every down. He would tire out and get injured.

        • Cravens was great to watch play as the receivers ran past him like he was standing still or how he flopped down to the ground like a rag doll when the running back bowled over him!!

    • None of those guys were leaving if Kiff gets canned. In fact, SC probably keeps a lot of the guys who defected just prior to LOI day if Kiff is replaced and ends up with a better class (and without 4 empty spots).

      • Sure Stu. That’s what recruits love. A school without a coach, off of a 7-6 season. I’d send my son to that dumpster fire. Wolfie wanted that to happen cause he hates USC. He gets more trolls like you when we are average.

        • well, actually, you replace Kiff after the bowl game and you still have time to recruit. Remember, SC played it’s bowl game in mid-December (unlike this year, when SC played its bowl game at home and was crushed by UCLA – see ya, O!).

          • Um, wrong again. Sun Bowl was held on Dec 31st. National Signing Day was 5 weeks away. I don’t even know why you come to this blog, serious.

          • Oh yeah, I forgot. Thought you played much, much, much earlier. Just couldn’t imagine a team so bad could play so late.

In any event, fire kiff before the bowl game or after – USC recruits itself, doesn’t it? Or is that only when you’ve got nothing else to rely upon?

          • You need to answer your own query. Because all you do is whine about Wolf. Obviously Wolf’s Blog isn’t up to Whiny standard. Fair enough. Quit constantly bit*hing about the same thing, hoping for a different direction. Start your own Blog Baldy. Pus*y.

      • *ussy, *ussy, *ussy. Hide behind the computer. Hey – you a tough one behind the wall. War time.

  3. Dude, let it go. You called it. Why doesn’t Pat Haden have a direct line to your phone, better you should be the co-AD and make all the decisions…is fucking beyond me!!

Let it go Scott. Give us something worthwhile… Who is on our recruiting radar? Stop being a bitch dude…oh and while you are at it, find a way to give us a self-filter so we can simply ignore some of the wretched souls you attract to this board. Think about it Scott, you could be huge in LA, respected,….but this bitchy stuff is not going to get you there.

  4. I don’t think it had to do with recruiting. Sarkisian had been on Haden’s radar for a long time and they were talking for a long time. USC fans did not want to hear about Sark being hired, so Haden instead claimed he was simply asking Sark (and Carroll) for their opinions.

Once USC lost, Haden knew the fan base would come down from their Stanford-Orgeron high. Then, he could hire Sark and maybe not face so much heat.

Had USC won, Haden would have let Orgeron coach the bowl game. Then, he would have taken the heat by hiring Sark. Make no mistake, Sark was getting hired either way.

    • If that’s the case, Haden had better be right. I think Sark is a good coach and Petersen is a great coach. I guess only time will tell.

    • Gee….HINDSIGHT is amazing isn’t it? You’re 100% right on everything….after it happens. You’re brilliant!
      Fit Un!

  5. Last Saturday, at 5 minutes to 5pm, if someone had told me the following would happen, I would have said they were on crack:
    1. Starting three true freshmen linemen and a sophomore, UCLA would manhandle pUSC’s vaunted Front 7 and blowout an inferior pUSC team in the Coliseum.
    2. Haden will completely fumble the coaching situation, miss on Chris Petersen, and opt for a .500 P12 coach who has won nothing.
    3. In doing so, Haden will inadvertently help Jim Mora negotiate a killer salary extension, and sweeten the pot for UCLA’s assistants.
    4. Via that $$ increase, UCLA will be able to fend off SC’s play on coveted recruiter and OL coach Adrian Klemm–choosing LESS $$ to remain a Bruin!
    5. As a bonus, the Bruins will pick up stud recruiter Kennedy Polamalu, who was too much of a threat to LK’s sensitive ego.
    6. And finally, by hiring Sarkiffin, allow Petersen to take the vacated UW job.

    What a week!

    • Preaching to the wrong crowd!…..We get it, you’re a fool….now move on, the laughter is killing me

      • That sound, TF, is an entire nation of college football fans laughing at how badly Haden bungled this entire week… LOL.
