USC Morning Buzz: Steve Sarkisian Reshapes Recruiting Class

When a new coach takes over a program, you often see a change in recruiting. And that is what’s happening right now since Steve Sarkisian took over. Some recruits like St. John Bosco wide receiver Shay Fields and Corona Centennial defensive end Austin Maloata said they have not really heard from USC the past two weeks.

They are not officially being dropped but encouraged to consider other colleges. Fields and Maloata are not the only ones. Sarkisian is reshaping the class. Ed Orgeron took some unconventional commitments during his two-month stint and it will be interesting to see how many actually sign.

  1. The trolls will be upset he is upgrading some offers, but we are sure they will find something else. Why is it they come here to diss USC but we don’t even know that name of one of their blogs. Is it we just don’t care about them one way or another? Come on little guys, call me names.

    • If they’re dumb enough then SUCLA can recruit them – this from an article on Fox Sports West:

      Keep it simple
Hundley has likely watched more film of Virginia Tech than his coach….

“That’s the one thing that I personally have a problem with,” Hundley said. “I started writing up game plans… but it’s hard to get everybody on the same page when the quarterback is thinking up all of this stuff.”

        • The genius is doing even a little bit of research to combat the troll disinformation. ESPN all-PAC-12 team was announced: SC 3 players, the “vaunted,” Sun Bowl ruins 2 players!!! Let’s see, how did that silly Santa Monica CC grad say it? Oh yeah, WOOT WOOT! Lame little troll. Oh yeah, worse yet, your self-anointed Heisman winner Myles “the hype” Jack was NO WHERE to be found. But wait, there’s more bad news for you Jonesie: Washington had more players on there than SUCLA! Is that an eight-WOOT? I love knowing your little troll mind has no comeback beyond 35-14!!! Hahaha, silly troll!!!

          • How many SUC players made the Walter Camp, or Sporting News All-American first teams? I’ll wait for an answer Scoop.

      • just read the article and I find the quote interesting. It was sort of a response (from the author’s paragraph) to not watching too much film. However, and I’ve been saying this all along, Hundley has an attitude problem. A huge one, actually.

The thing is, UCLA had a string of bad luck with QBs getting injured and just terrible QBs. Hundley was treated as the savior and he wanted to take control and makes decisions. The coaches pat him on the head and then implement their own plan. If their plan implodes on game day, Hundley gets frustrated and tries to switch to his own.

      • Anybody believing anything reported on FOX news or sports needs a seeing eye dog and a red and white cane.

      • Believe me, we’re a lot more tired of you than you are of us. Truth is, you need us, which is why you are here every day, sometimes every hour. Trolling a Bruin site is beyond consideration. Bruin blogs (are there any?) must be really lame. To be expected.

        • I will own up to your point, Wolf’s Blog is fun to troll. No doubt about it. Inside UCLA is lame, and could benefit from a reset, starting with the exit of Jack Wang.

          • Awww, heysucme loves him some Trojans. Sorry chum bucket, you struck out with this adorable little ruin. Trojan envy can strike at the funniest times with even the strangest of people….

  2. He is just stealing his Washington offerees! Washington wasn’t tearing apart the recruiting rankings. Thank you Sarkiffen! Seven-Win On! (It may become Six-Win Sark since SuC doesn’t have Idaho or Eastern Washington on its schedule!)

    • I crack up at the mindset of bruined fans. I’m banking on them not getting another 10 win season. Again! This with having Nevada (4-8) and New Mexico St. (2-10) on their schedule. The best Bruined team in the new century loses Alamo bowls. Haha.

      • After you played Hawaii and BC? Bruins played the 3rd toughest schedule in the country this year. I wouldn’t worry too much about the Alamo Bowl, you have your own bad bowl to worry about.

        • What is it about the statement that “your best team of the century lost the Alamo Bowl” you don’t understand. It’s a fact. USC’s best team of the century won the national championship. Fact, Good luck with this upcoming bowl game. Maybe you’ll finally win one. You’re even favored. Whoopeee!

          • Jack, when fucla wins a National Championship in football, finishes in the Top 5, is awarded a second Heisman, a Butkus or Outland Trophy, will you please wake me up? So far, I’m closing in on the world record help by Rip Van Winkle.

          • yeah, because that’s where SC is too! Past versus present isn’t a
discussion you trogans like to have, is it? Haha, Sarknado ON!

          • At least we have National Championships to look forward to in the future. what do the bRuins have to look forward to? Having a few successful runs against USC? Man, the bRuins’ aspirations sure are high!

          • Today, Dec. 16, 2013 the SUC’s, the self-anointed unique football program, is the irrelevant princess of LA football.

          • irrelevant? USC is the only college in LA anyone even talks about. Even you bRuins would rather talk about USC over fucla.

          • You’re right, this is a great blog to troll. I admit it. But SUC is still SUCUDub, the Princess of LA football. Facts are facts. UCLA 35 – suc 14.

          • Haha. They’re talking about how you can’t beat UCLA! How you blew the Kiffen hire and then followed it up with Sarknado! About how you tried to steal Klemm and failed, twice. About how you went 1 to UN! About how you fought each other in the locker room. About that marble mouth coach O who stormed off in a huff after pledging to die for his squad. LOL.

          • One of us will have the last laugh…but I just don’t see Sark taking you to the promised land. I will bank on Mora over Sark.

          • I think UCLA is building something special…we will see. You feel good about SC. The next few years should be very competitive. We will see how fast Sark can get things going. It will still take a few years to get all the scholie numbers up to 85.

          • who’s this “we”? You play? Don’t confuse a team from 10 years ago with yourself. You have a team to cheer for that sucks. A team that’s lost to UCLA 2 years running. A team that lost to Wazzu at home! A team that’s now being run by Sarknado! LOL.

          • why? Because you won them in the past? Yes, you stick with that. I mean, you’ll be back at full scholarship strength in what, 3 years? And the large majority of those guys will be 3* freshmen and sophs? Under Sarknado? Trust me, the rest of the PAC is scaaaarred.

          • Because whether you can come to admit it or not, USC is a national power. Yes, USC has been down during sanctions. Yet, they have not had a losing season, look at how Alabama did with less severe sanctions. If you dont think USC will ever get back to national title contention then you really are an idiot.

          • Spud, don’t know what YOU’RE talking about, you ain’t got NOTHIN’ going on right now…..or EVER. LOL

          • Briiliant. You now finally understand that the Trojans have a glorious football past. UCLA has a very mediocre football history. Glad you get that. But, things are looking up for you. Congratulations. Your team finally doesn’t stink. Go Bruins. Win the Doormat, er, Sun Bowl in Flatbush, Texas. Hoorrahh! Mighty little gutties might finally win a low grade bowl game. Oh, ya!

          • Future looks pretty good for USC. Again, we are not to interested in fucla period, good or bad.

          • SUC is favored in the “Take a Dump” Bowl. Course SUC, the unique FB program, was heavily favored in the mausoleum earlier this year against Washington State. Wash. St. 10 – suc 7. Lose on SUCUDub.

          • Best team of what century? It wasn’t even our best team of the 2000’s and we have had a lot of turd teams. If it is the last 100 years…well you can go all the way back to 1954.

And Jackie…it was SC that lost in the Alamo Bowl last year. We lost to a strong Baylor team in the Holiday Bowl. You lost to a team with a losing record in the Alamo. If you are going to go all smack on someone…at least get your facts straight.

          • You are right…my bad. We are in the same bowl this year. Don’t think any Bruins are going crazy about a Sun Bowl bid. Logic is not present here among many comments…and I see someone always getting deleted. Sun Bowl or Alamo Bowl..just another crappy game in Texas.

          • USC has fixed that problem by getting itself permanently banned from the city of El Paso, it seems.

          • Best team of this century, of course. But glad you went back to the 50’s, the last time you guys won a championship.

The little gutties have obviously been bad for a long, long time. When did you have a good team in the 2000’s? I must have missed that team. The year you beat USC 13-9? Gotcha. Your claim to fame. It was during that time USC was winning national championships.

I know you don’t like to hear about history, something that for little gutties can only be described as mediocre at best. There’s some logic for ya.

        • SUC is playing in the “Take a Dump” Bowl, sponsored by Island Fresh Guano Fertilizer. It’s a mid-day game that no one will be watching. SUC: UDub’s South campus.

          • I don’t care what you do. But if I were you I’d spent some time trying to engineer your head out of your azz.

          • It’s funny, you never have relevant answers. You say nobody will watch the Vegas Bowl, but then don’t have an answer as to who is going to watch the el crapo bowl pitting fucla vs a lowly Va. Tech.

          • Cheap Talk, stay calm, but bigot is the pp of beget. Brew some tea, and take a nap. You’ll feel much better when you wake up. Happy Holidays.

          • Ok. Who will watch the Sun Bowl? NFL scouts, the Bruins and Hokies have several players worthy of drafting. Lots of Hokie fans, and many UCLA fans. A few SUCUDub fans will tune in hoping UCLA will lose. In conclusion Loseon, I think it’s safe to predict that the SUN Bowl will draw 4 to 5 times better TV ratings than SUC at the “Take a Dump” bowl.

  3. Many fans are critical of recruits changing their minds after verbally committing, but the schools do it too. Nothing is binding until letter of intent day.

  4. Duh. New coach changes recruiting class because old coach is history and new signees have to play for the new coach, not the old one. This isn’t brain surgery Wolfie.

  5. “Er yeah, is this UW? Yeah, this is Sarknado. Can I take some of the 3* kids you don’t want to fill my class? Yeah, thanks for that. Love you.”

  6. interesting topic Wolf. could have followed it up with a piece of journalism in the subject instead of opening it up to this troll infested cesspool
