Vandy Coach James Franklin To Texas? NFL?

Vanderbilt coach James Franklin might yet land a plum job even though he couldn’t make much impression at USC. He’s being eyed by NFL teams according to ESPN.

  1. Everytime I read about Vandy, I think about all of the teams with losing records they beat (and all of the teams with winning records they lost to).

  2. We’re due for a Peterson/UW update — and then if Franklin leaves we’ll need Vanderbilt coaching search updates, please. BTW, can anyone recommend a good site for USC football?

  3. Since the other site is packed re. Sarkisian I did see a rather ugly possibility of what prompted the inquiry – it may turn out Davis was the sole source ‘but’ I did read of someone positing it was a rich alum unhappy with the Sark hire to begin with – again this was just a post elsewhere on ‘scenarios’ nothing else.

  4. Apples and oranges, Wolf. NFL coaches evaluate talent but don’t have to be real personable or even great motivators whereas college coaches deal with 18- 22 year olds who are more impressionable and want to be wooed. Do you analyze any of your comments or do you write whatever comes off the top of your head?

    • And SuC was looking for another coach whose assistants pay off coaches and players… That was probably the fit that was missing between SuC and Peterson or Franklin!

2014 will be the year that opponents, especially Stanford, flood the stadiums and with Brown Paper Bags and Coffee Cups!
