  1. That was a really short “weeks” after the bowl game to think about the decision. I love Bailey’s game, but he’s only played one year at college safety and would be better prepared for the NFL if he’d come back and be part of a dominant defense.

    • true, it would be better if he came back and was part of a dominant defense – but no real assessment thinks the Trojans will have one next season. The reality it will better for all those who leave now, there is no reason for any player close to the fence to stay around.

      • Except for two games the defense played very well this year. Potentially returning 9 starters and next year having a solid team of reserves they are expected to be dominant by the CFB talking heads.

The NFL is a business and no place to develop your skills (hello Mark Sanchez). Being a hyped high draft choice shouldn’t be the end game, but having a long and productive career – just compare the careers of Mark Sanchez and Carson Palmer (who will probably be playing after Sanchez is sitting at home on Sundays).

        • Matt Cassell developed his skills in the NFL. Matt Barkley showed it’s dumb to hang around if you can become a millionaire after your junior year.

          • Matt Cassell is an outlier – 99% of the NFL players aren’t afford that luxury. And he hasn’t set the NFL world on fire either!

If you become a millionaire after your junior year or senior year what’s the difference? You make more money by having a long career.

      • Yup. Simers was crying that USC was celebrating on the sidelines. This is why other papers have shoved him out – because he is a petulant, overweight girl that likes to cry in his cereal.

    • Pretty bad when you have to go to the troll of trolls to attack USC. I thought Simers was suspended.

      • Simers is a tool possessing that rare ability to bring Bruins and Trojans into total agreement and harmony on his idiocy.

        • Agreed. I wonder if his lifelong campaign to troll FP Santangelo brought him any happiness.

Put it this way….Bucket is a more entertaining troll than Simers. The TJ stands for Total Jackass.

          • Simers spent the better part of 5 years criticizing Karl “Dullard”. He wasn’t a good head coach and came in during the Carroll era…very tough time…but Dorrell is a very nice man. Finally, at the end when the writing is on the wall and he is going to get fired, Simers starts to praise him. He has done this a few times with different coaches. Ride them, ride them and then praise them on the gallows. Talk about a hypocrite.

    • Read the comments under that article from Total Jerk – he will lose his job at OC Register very very soon with that drivel – these student athletes deserve lots of credit and Slimers showed once again why he was fired from LA Times – great reference though, donkey-clown!

  2. Come on, he’s as good as gone

Thanks for all the nice memories though, Bailey, because you were undersized in stature but oversized in effort
