USC v. UCLA: Adoree Jackson Edition

USC and UCLA and vying for Serra wide receiver Adoree Jackson’s final official visit. They are both in his final five along with Florida, Tennessee and LSU.

    • He’s definitely not coming to UCLA, but I wouldn’t bet against Southern Cal ire Florida with Tennessee having an outside shot.

  1. Professor Sanchez, this morning the symbols were accompanied by only nine hash marks, further confirming my belief that they signify a countdown to something — something unknown, but apparently only nine days hence.

I have considered one intriguing but seemingly far-fetched possibility: the Celtic holiday of imbolc, celebrating the coming of spring, is approximately nine days away. Does it suggest a connection between the menehune and leprechauns? Between Samoans and the Irish? But how could populations so seemingly far apart have any link at all? (The theory of the Hollow Earth seems too much, even for this discussion).

      • That’s precisely what the Journal of Modern Anthropology keeps saying! Well, let them say it!

          • Dennis Rodman, certainly.

Ha ha, I know what you really meant. Truth is, as a lad I cared more for books than footie, but in those days I was quite fond of Keane. Makes me feel a bit old to see him put out to pasture with the Galaxy.

          • Are you some sort of teenage professor?
You can’t be too old if you saw Keane as a lad.

I thought you were going to say Gascoigne or Lineker or maybe even Jimmy Greaves…

And yes, we are talking about the original Spurs here.

          • Legends all, but a bit before my time (well before my time in the case of Greaves). Jethro (if I may be so bold as to address you as Jethro), I am only a graduate student. That’s why I live just north of the campus, as was established in earlier posts!

I fear that Professor Sanchez will not see any further messages on this day-old thread, so I must be off.

          • My mistake. I was under the assumption that you were a visiting professor.
Don’t worry, Sanchez never misses anything related to this blog or USC in general, for that matter.

  2. Why would you visit schools that you go to all the time? If you want to be a winner USC is your unanimous pick!
FL is the favorite I believe due to the Olympic track coach, coaches at FL.
