USC Morning Buzz: Another Pat Haden Nugget

USC athletic director Pat Haden stressed that college football assistants must be young when referring to Steve Sarkisian’s staff.

“It is a young group, and quite frankly, this has become a young man’s game,” he said. “The amount of hours these guys put into the job requires a ton of energy and enthusiasm. They relate to young people well, and I have heard that directly from our players.”

  1. Wolf, this makes sense since war and sports are for the young… You on the other hand are a parking lot stalking cheese bucket!

  2. Sark, despite very reasonable concerns about his prospects for success at USC, has brought in a strong group of assistants. Young or old, they should give Sark the back-up necessary for him to see if he can improve as a coach from what he did at UW. Sark certainly hasn’t screwed the pooch with this staff. Good mixture of holdovers, newcomers, NFL, college, geography, big school pedigree, experience and youth. Now, it’s up to Sark to prove he is big enough for the job.

  3. Haden should take his own advice and resign for a younger or smarter person. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find a replacement.

  4. Lane Kiffin is a young man….I guess that was his secret to relating well to the players. While old man coach O had no energy or enthusiasm and the players couldn’t relate to him.
This comment by Haden is evidence that he is getting creamed by alumni about the sark hire…making idiotic justifications.

  5. Great for recruiting.. Developing and building kids into men and great players.. remains to be seen..
