No Weekend Commitments For USC Football

None of the uncommitted recruits that visited USC this weekend committed on their trip. And the status of defensive end Malik Dorton remains muddled. He visited USC and says he is committed but would like to take another trip. Is that what USC’s coaching staff secretly wants?

The fact USC did not get any commitments is no doubt tempered by the fact Ricky Town committed yesterday.

  1. Several of the recruits have plans to announce on TV so it’s no surprise that they did not announce. Mama is looking more locked as is Dixon. Dorton claims he spoke with coaches and received clarity about his position. Maybe Sark wants him dropped but isn’t sure he can lock in someone else to fill the spot. The roundups can be found at WeAreSC. Twitter and Instagram of the recruits also confirm as much.

      • What doesn’t make sense is UCLA’s numbers are rising because of a surprise flip from a three star QB (who will likely play at another position if Woulard is the next Hundley). Plus, a commit from Miller that everyone expected. Whereas, USC is expected to sweep two five stars, maybe three. We’ll talk on signing day, but their obsession is lame.

  2. Ricky Town wouldn’t help SUCC until 2016 or 2017. If he’s as good as everybody thinks he is, he may go elsewhere and play as a true freshman. He may not want to carry Browne’s clipboard for the duration of Browne’s SUCC career. His commitment is at best tentative.

          • Rosen committed to UCLA. Like the coach expected him to this weekend cause he’s a lock solid Bruin ….. Wait know he didn’t Bwhahahahaaha!!!!! That was Town de-committing and emptying his trash as he drove past Who-ville on his way to USC !!!!

          • 2015 class, moron. Only delusional trOJies get excited about commitments that are meaningless.

          • He has nothing better to do but sell Buick’s. Give poor Amos a break. C’mon Trojan, be nice.

          • Only delusionals get excited (obsession) about trolling a blog that they are disassociated with.

          • No Buick sales today Amos? I see that you have an abnormal (obsession) amount of time to waste on us. If we were truly so inferior, then why would you bother with us?

Your opportunity cost of obsession with the school that “doesn’t matter anymore” is probably 3 Regal’s a day. Heck, if you work on your priorities in ’14, perhaps you’ll eclipse the 50K mark in net earnings. C’mon Amos! Fight On in ’14. I’ll clap for you (9x).

          • Dang, another lost opportunity to sell a Buick just now. OK, maybe 35K is more realistic for you Amos. Tell your room mate that he needs to clean his side of the apartment. It’s not fair to you.

    • ” Town’s commitment is at best tentative until SUCC receives his signed LOI 2/2015″ You are just a genius aren’t you? I mean the same doesn’t go for any other commit for any other school does it? You should probably just quit while you’re behind.

      • FtoV are you blind. If Browne wins the QB position this year, he should have least a three year career before he moves on. Is RT going to sit still for three years when he is good enough to start elsewhere as a true Freshman? Are you saying a new HC won’t dangle that option in Town’s face. Get serious.

        • Are YOU blind? What level is your reading comprehension at? What I said is that your statement applies to every recruit. Nothing is guaranteed until national signing day…

          • RT is a rare commodity: A freshman QB good enough to start. Yes, you are correct, it does apply to every recruit, in fact UCLA flipped an Alabama recruit and SUCC flipped a UCLA recruit. But that is small potatoes compared to an exceptional QB who commits a year before he can sign a LOI and probably won’t play before 2017, provided Sark is still around.

          • Succ: pay attention. Many analysts tout the latest true freshman QB to be able to start. They said it about Browne and it didn’t happen (now, it is a fair question about whether Kiffin gave him a fair chance, but several agreed that he was behind the others). I recall articles claiming Barkley should not start and pointed out he underperformed expectations in his senior year and at several spring games (sure, Barkley’s freshman year wasn’t Heisman worthy, but it was not a disaster).

We do not know how Town, or anyone, will play until they arrive on campus. Some three stars shine (even still perhaps they are three stars due to extenuating circumstances like an injury, switching high schools, not being in a high profile school, etc). The two and three star Rodgers brothers come to mind. Other five stars flounder. So, yes, maybe Town is one of those kids who can start, maybe he isn’t. Nothing is sure in recruiting.

          • That’s actually the most in-depth post I’ve seen from you!

            Will it keep up?

Or will you revert back to “Jim Mora calls the plays” garbage?

        • Donkey … You don’t think Town and his family knows this captain obvious …. He just wants to be a Trojan ! Get over it …. We’ll send you a Ricky Town SC jersey to dance in Buffalo Bill

      • Only a butt-hurt troll would continue to make a fool of himself! The 2014 recruiting class is on the rise, embrace it….I know it kills you….hahaha!

PS…. take the trash out if you want some dessert!

        • Usc recruiting on the rise?? Off course it is, the only way is up when it can’t get any lower. What a tool!!

Rivals recruiting rankings: UCLA #17 USC #33

        • 10 win season for USC …. Yup pretty bad … What’s a a 10 win season for RUINVILLE ????? ….. Thought so ! Your ceiling ! Our floor !!!

          • Well it got the assistants a raise !!!! and a commitment for a 100 yard practice field ….. LMFAO!!!!

          • What? You mean UCLA pays their coaches more than their professors? So am I to believe that football is more important than education? Be still my beating heart. I better write Gov Moon Beams and alert him to this injustice and abuse of the public trust. I am a tax payer, I will have you know!

          • 10 wins and beating Stanford while firing the head coach, scholarship reductions, bring targeted by the NZAA, etc..

Even the 10-2 season while beating Oregon was impressive considering the crap USC has been through!

  3. its getting to be an all UCLA troll board. Go watch you basketball games and let the men work this out. If you guys work really hard USC might let you into our night extension program and you guys can call yourself baby Trojans.

    • Automatic admission to Gilbert U, Thaispoon, Wolf (Up-Chuck) and SUCLA. Bored guys who pass the time by “even if you beat ’em, join ’em.”

  4. I honestly love how UCLA fans care so much about our news. I never go on bruin sites or news to keep up with their stuff, because to be honest, I dont care about UCLA all that much other than thinking they are a joke. Look at them all happy they beat us finally. Thinking they are all on some rise, but then they go back in their holes when we beat them 50-0. So funny, so funny.

    • Ooooklah is Funny —– Give ’em a break! Don’t you realize, the pretty little blue bears ache from deeply-rooted inferiority? This complex has been fomenting for years. They trail us by more than 15 games in the all-time series, they haven’t won anything meaningful (including a Rosebowl) in almost 30 years, they’ve suffered the worst margin of defeat (50-0) in the series most recently and they have an 80 yard practice field.

But they should fear not, Oooklah is Funny, because they’re getting a “new football facility.” For sure. I promise. Stick a shovel in the dirt now. No…the bureaucratic mess of a bankrupt state of CA will not get in the way of the guttie little success that is going to be permanent. And those public school professors who are going to want raises —- yeah don’t worry about them either. They’ll come to their senses.

        • That’s true, Joe Blow. Maybe now they’ll get that Bel Air practice facility. Let’s see……extra land worth $5M a pop just for subdivision or practice facility…..and no raises for their fine public educators to boot. Seems that on paper, the economic return is far greater with that facility over other alternatives. Right?

    • Honestly, you can’t say “I don’t care about UCLA” when you have a screen name like that.

      Just sayin’….

      • “I dont care about UCLA all that much other than thinking they are a joke” If you read correctly it states that I obliviously care enough to acknowledge them, and the comparison that I dont troll around UCLA websites. Your point is invalid.

    • ZERO ROSE BOWL WINS OVER THE LAST 28 YEARS !!!!! WOOOOO WEEE …. .Bahahahahahahah… WE OWN THIS TOWN…. JUST NOT YOUR OWN STADIUM ;(

      • Right. If you have to tell this town who owns it, you know in your heart that you really don’t own it. Everyone knows the real score and 50-0 is just the start of the game.

      • Rose bowls? The Sun Bowl is good enough for many of the trolls to use the word “dominating”.

  5. Kessler and Witteck were pretty high rated QBs right? LMAO! Oh man Christmas all over again.. .thank you rah-rahs for being you..

WARNING:Crotch Kicks can lead to severe brain failure

    • Specially a guy like you with his brain between his legs……..crotch kick….hahaha!!!
