Notre Dame Stadium Project Con’t.

Will it be embarrassing if Notre Dame starts its football stadium improvements before USC starts any renovations at the Coliseum? The Irish expect to start within two years. USC said it will take at least a year before anything is done, including things that might not be considered huge changes like replacing seats.

  1. Now, I’m no expert on Notre Dame (despite reading this blog!), but as far as I know, Notre Dame is a private school with an on-campus stadium that it owns outright. Meanwhile, USC is leasing the Coliseum, an off-campus property owned by the public and surrounded by a public park. I don’t know if Notre Dame’s stadium has any kind of historic landmark status the way that the Coliseum does, but it seems pretty unsurprising to me that Notre Dame would be able to move more quickly to make changes at its own stadium. On a related note, Notre Dame didn’t just finish years of negotiations and who knows what behind-the-scenes skullduggery to obtain a lease of its own stadium; USC had to jump through hoops just to get to this point.

    • SUCC is also a private University. So now you are blaming SUCC’s inability to quickly renovate the Mausoleum on Red Tape. LOL.

      • We should just ask the Rose Bowl to let us take over … I am more than certain they bounce you dummies out for us !!! I mean come Jan…. That is our home field !!!! We’ve raised more trophy on your field on one day than your program has in its miserable History !!!!! HAWR HAWR CHORTLE !!!!’

  2. Mr. Jenkins would also note that Notre Dame has their Sugar Daddy NBC-TV contract to pay for the new construction.

  3. Don’t really care at all what the domers are doing. Wolf’s blog can be all over the place at times, and OCD like at other times. But at least he consisstantly posts stuff. I’ve been to Jack Wang’s (is that really his name?) ruin blog, and it is a barren wasteland. No wonder the ruin trolls are always here. So I guess it could be worse.

  4. It will be completely embarrassing for ND if they do not include a giant video screen with their remodel.

  5. wolfman, no Domer fan , but financially, they are in a different galaxy compared to Southern Cal!!!

Rudy’s have a MAJOR NETWORK DEAL which no one else has!

Southern Cal Dummies just get the same share of the Pac12 TV deal as Washington state gets!!

    Some big shots!!

    HAWR-HAWR!!

    • Donkey …We have one of the biggest endowments outside of the Ivy league schools …. unlike your welfare school…. HAWR HAWR. ….Chortle…

The PAC 12 got the TV contract because of us … not you… Stanford , Oregon.

      • If that’s true why does SUCC need Alumnus $$$ donations to renovate SUCC;s junkyard, known as the LA Memorial Mausoleum, the proud home to rodents and winos.

        • Look it up Jackwagon !!!! Besides we plan proper … Unlike you dummies when you threw out your 80 yard practice field !

    • Do some homework before you make a fool of yourself again!

      Dementia is some nasty stuff

      (Double Chortle)

    • SUCC, please go independent. But SUCC doesn’t have the hair to exploit its legendary, in its own mind, superiority.

      • You’d love that if we left the conference ! You might get to play in January !!!! … Wait …. Nope that’s not happening ….Look at the last three years !

      • Without USC the pac8, pac10, pac12 would be equivalent to the non BCS conferences. We carried the conference for decades. Enjoy the ride?

    • Did you read Forbes listing of wealthiest athletic programs in America? Where did your school come out? When it comes to money, the best thing a ruin can do is be quiet.

      • Well then spend the money, moneybags!!!

So what your saying is your school is filthy rich but walks around with holes in their shoes..,,big diff betw thrifty and CHEAP.

Well good luck on those “new chairs” next year!!!

No WONDER everyone loves the Rudys and hates southern cal!!!

        • Okay, don’t take my advice, go ahead and speak. The wonder is that you guys show up here day after day with NOTHING!!

  6. WEB_Dupreee has it right – this is an ‘apple to oranges’ comparison.

So the Fighting Nigerians opps my bad ‘Irish’ (can’t wait for all the pc addicts….then again funny all those non-Catholics since 1970 you know Baptists, Mormons, AME, – hey at So. Bend-IN all are welcome as long as they can play football…but I digress…..

Even Lou Holtz chimed ni during the last week of December of how inadequate the “…LA Colisuem’s facilities were for ‘visiting teams’..’ good ole Lou … the sole award he has is 1988 – a failure before and since then but give this granma from he)) his due…. he notes what all knew – the most legacy ‘extant’ stadium in all of the USA is finally going to be renovated to a status that the ‘troika’ of ‘City of LA, Co8unty of LA and State of CA’ could never do because alas they’re all controlled by ‘demokratiche socialtsche arbeit partei’ aka ‘Nazis’ and aka ‘democrats’….they’re real good the left of ‘*&cking’ things up…listen to the ‘househand’s’ idiocy last night from the capitol…pure marxist-leninst-hitler ‘blame the rich and uplift the poor’

Notre Dame’s denouement is looming since those cowards ’embraced’ the ACC – loving it ‘once’ FL St., VA Tech, Clemson and/or Miami-FL leave that has been conference for the: Big 12, SEC or Big 10.

“Free beer at old Notre Dame…drinkings my nature ain’t yours the same?”

  7. No. However, it’s embarrassing that the USC blog writer doesn’t mention that Max Wittek is transferring. That actually has some implications on the team and the number of available scholarships.

  8. So the University of Spare Change won’t get anything done till maybe a year from now, ha!!

Thank you Christmas and thank you SC.. .

      • And the Pauley kids are still curb stomping the crap out of Traveler… .joke! All that money towards the worst BBall program in the Pac12, pure genius … TrojanAF

Thank you Christmas and thank you SC.. .

  9. Anything that gets done to the coliseum will be an improvement. Is the little school getting the title one funds to spend on renovating the rose bowl soon. I am sure the governor can take some money away from his bullet train and help the little gutties out.

  10. You know zilch about how money is raised… Private schools only announce to the public the cost of an expansion/capital project once 1/2 to 2/3 of the dough is in the bank. Then and only then the project is “shovel ready” and the public is invited to support the project. No, Scott, it not embarassing to USC – how could it be, when ND has been in “quiet” phase of raising money for this project for some time? Quit stirring the pot like a bunch of middle school girls and focus on somethine you know less about football. (That was sarcasm, by the way.) Reading your posts is like listening to a bunch of 13 year olds gossip at a sleepover – no substance, all innuendo and ultimately, completely self-promoting.

  11. You know nothing about private school fundrasing. Only after a project has hit 1/2 – 2/3 of the total cost do they announce to the public. ND has been in the “quiet phase” for years already. When the project “shovel ready” then and only then, are the public invited to participate as a donor at any level. Suggesting USC should be embarassed by this is asinine. Stop stirring the pot like a bunch of middle school girls at a sleepover and stick to something you know even less about: college football. That was sarcasm by the way. You know, this really is my own fault since each time I come back to this board hoping that something will be different, I am reminded that you really are the worst kind of 7th grade girl – no substance, all innuendo and ultimately, totally focused on yourself.
