  1. good chance they will not get all who they need, but they will get most of whom they want.

    • Now does that make it a better recruiting class, get who you “want” and not who you need!?!?

      • It’s rather simple.

You need to get what you want, or have wanted to get wha tyou need. In other words, you want what you want but you need to get what you need. You need to not get what you don’t want with the corollary being not
wanting a non-need. This should lead to a highly ranked recruiting class…except
when it doesn’t. Follow these guidelines and it should be fairly obvious which
local team will have the higher ranked class at the conclusion of next Wed. If you have any difficulty whatsoever implementing any these guidelines it would be my great pleasure to refer you to my esteemed consultant, Nigel, who just completed his doctoral dissertation on this very subject at the University of Phoenix. His faculty advisor was none other than the esteemed Dr. Lipshit.

      • Kind of like with limits on scholies, you go after the biggest wants because you know you cannot get everyone you need. Needs are usually never completely filled, so if they get their wants they are doing well and with the wants they try to fill the needs. Really simple. Please refer to Larry Harris for further clarification if you are struggling with it.

        • sounds like a winning formula.. . “i need you but i don’t want you” whatever keeps Sc 3rd in the South, ha!

Thank you Christmas and thank you SC.. .

  2. Anyone know how common it is for a school to run out of scholarships? If this happens, does a coach call prospects and say sorry?

    • Yes, coaches drop players if they run out. However, many players will see the writing on the wall closer to signing day. The balancing act is actually very intriguing: coaches will hold onto a player and if he gets a better player will drop the other one – that’s when some kids see the writing and switch. Other kids want to be D1 bound and wait around to be a fill-in. That is, they see what other kids do and wait for the coach’s call on NSD.

  3. Sometimes kids are asked to grey-shirt, which means they must enroll midyear. Or walk on. Regardless, kids switch at the last minute all the time, so it happens on both sides.

  4. Scottie: looks like Kiffin made the right decision to hold on to some of the 2013 scholarships rather than give them to some cupcakes that we’d be stuck with for four years like you proposed.

    • Yes Kiffin was brilliant to let all those top recruits bail on us at the last minute last year. You rah rahs never fail to amaze.

      • Your perception is way out of focus. You’re an idiot and “never fail to amaze”.

        • A rah rah like you telling someone to think for themselves? You should be writing for Jon Leibowitz!

  5. First of all, the vote options are classic. Insultingly idiotic, but classic.

The problem is really with the premise. SC will keep moving forward and play the hand they’ve been dealt and be fine. It is the players that would have really wanted to go to SC and play football that have run out of scholarships. Paul Dee and the NCAA didn’t ruin the program, they just created a lot of lost opportunity for players who wanted to come to SC.

    • haha, yeah, all those players who REALLY wanted to play for Kiff, then O, then Sarknado. LOL.

  6. SUCC loses another Pac 12 BB game tonight, to Oregon St., 76 – 75. Close but no cigar. Let face it SUCC fans, if you want to win basketball games, recruits should enroll at UCLA. But SUCC Fights On.
