Marcus Allen, my favorite football player of all time.

Student body left, student body right. Everyone knew it was coming, but no one could stop itl

  • Marv Elapes

Marcus is the man. Still crazy to think we had him and Charles at the same time.

Even crazier to remember he was recruited as a DB!

Imagine the secondary of Lott, Smith, Browner, and Allen?

      • Ben Factor

Sure, but the team would have missed those 2,000 yards rushing.

More recently, Lee was recruited as a DB. Lee preferred to play WR, and Kiffin wasn’t taking any chances on another DAT.

Nor should Sarkisian with Smith or Jackson. Let them play where they want. They’ll find out soon enough if they can match up to the other guys. Just as Greene will find out if he’s college QB material.

No denying that RB was the best place for Allen. Good job, John Robinson.

          Same thing with Lee.

Probably trying to get a donation from Marcus.

Finally, here is a thread that even the haters and trolls would not dare bad mouth. We may even have a few who don’t even know who Marcus Allen is. One of the great football players and gentleman ever.

    • Ben Factor

I remember when he first broke in at TB (after a year at FB). He didn’t play TB that well the first year. Having experienced Garrett, OJ Simpson, and White, I didn’t see much in him. Boy was I wrong! I don’t know what gelled for him, but he soon surpassed them all–except OJ.

As you say, Allen is classy, and obviously OJ is deeply disturbed. But in terms of potential that got actualized, I have to go with OJ. He was just a notch below Jim Brown and Barry Sanders.

      • SUCC de trop

Benny, AD scored six TD’s one afternoon against Notre Dame and snatched victory from the jaws of SUCC humilation. Together, OJ and Allen can’t match that performance.

        • Jethro G Sabbath

          You follow USC intently, huh?

          • SUCC de trop

I watched the Notre Dame game and I watched the 21 – 20 UCLA game. It’s not even close. AD by ten lengths.

          • Jethro G Sabbath

You remember Ronnie Lott suiting up for basketball and now you’re showing support for Anthony Davis.

You love USC and are just afraid to admit it!

          • SUCC de trop

I’m not just showing support for AD, I’m shouting it. As for Lott, I never saw Lott play SUCC Basketball. If he did, BFD. In those days nobody televised or watched SUCC BB. Some things never change do they Jethro.

Yeah then again humility isn’t his long suit.

      • Ben Factor

Hey, Red Square. He won the Heisman and is in the NFL HOF. He’s handsome and pretty well-spoken. You think he should be self-effacing?

Actually, he’s realistic. He would tell you that he’s no Barry Sanders, and he would probably tell you that OJ was better, too.

    • SUCC de trop

Especially when Allen was boinking OJ’s ex. A true gentleman. Also, let’s not forget what Al Davis thought of Allen and the Goat. Davis was right about Kiffy, so Davis might of had good reason to bench Allen (in Allen’s prime, no less) for two seasons.

    DOPE! So. East! 619 BABY!
