USC is hoping to convince quarterback Larry Tuileta of Punahou High School in Honolulu, who is committed to Hawaii, to join the Trojans’ recruiting class as a preferred walk-on. Considering the relationship (or non-relationship) between Steve Sarkisian and Norm Chow, there is probably more going on than just a quarterback being recruited as a walk-on.

Perhaps Sark is just messing with Chow a little.
If that quarterback is dumb enough to enroll at USC without a full scholarship , then he’s not really interested in playing College Football . Because he will be buried so deep on that bench he will hardly be able to breath .
My wild guess is that one or more of the scout squad QB’s may not participate this year, leaving a void. Tuileta runs a 5.0 -40-yard dash so he is no scrambling or running QB. It is a sign of the coaches considering depth not just the high profile players. And if the just finished Super Bowl has a lesson, it is that 3-star recruits and backups at a good program like USC can end up NFL starters or Super Bowl MVP’s.
