If you live in Los Angeles County, Time Warner cable lost its feed of the Super Bowl for almost an hour on its standard definition channel last night. Why do I mention this? Because the Pac-12 (and USC) told you (the fans) to drop DirecTV for Time Warner last summer.

If you followed their advice, you lost some CBS channels during a dispute last August. And you might have lost the Super Bowl last night, which if you were a USC fan you maybe watched more intently because of Pete Carroll.

On the plus side, you get the Pac-12 Network.

  1. You are such a moron. The Pac-12 commissioner was the cause of the lost FOX feed? Other than for handful of households that do not have an HD tuner and set-top box, this was a non-issue.

    • I think he is saying that Time-Warner sucks, which it does.

      I have DirectTV. Better choices, service, etc., and you get the NFL Ticket. And I am not going to change just to see Utah vs. Oregon State.

    • Wrong as usual Golly-Nerd/TrojanFan/Wisdom/TrojanFamily. It was a big issue for a lot of fans and the HD feed was indeed blacked out.

      • The only person more of a moron than AD Gargamel is the person that defends his idiocy.
        The HD feed was not affected. Only SD. From a technical standpoint, it would be a near impossibility that both the HD and SD FOX feeds were lost at the same time, while all other SD and HD feeds were uninterrupted, and have Time Warner Cable be the culprit. I would explain a cable MSO’s network architecture/engineering to you, but you would not understand.

    • It was Wolf complaining…and last time I checked he is a proud product of the USC School of Journalism. Not sure who is still watching standard def…but perhaps the pay at the Daily News is not stellar.

      • Last time I checked, the USC School of Journalism is ranked significantly higher than UCLA’s, if the Bruins even have one. I could be wrong, but isn’t it true that the USC Journalism School dwarfs UCLA’s in terms or reputation? I’m sure you know. Just another example of how one bad Wolfie apple can’t spoil the whole bunch.

          We actually have 2 fine universities in UCLA and USC…aside from the normal chirping. Both schools have much to offer. But I am sure someone will make some negative comment about something that is fairly obvious to most people that simply look at the facts without bias.

          • You are as biased as they come, so don’t kid yourself. If you should think otherwise, it wouldn’t surprise me. Many of us Trojans don’t think much of Wolfie here, and for good reason and it’s got nothing to do with bias. He’s just not that sharp or prepared for his blog and repetitively harps on so much we just aren’t interested in, so he’s much more popular with you daily little gutty Trolls, who apparently have no other blog to be anonymous big shots on.

          • Biased as far as the teams. SC has become and excellent school in the last decade. Easy to look at the change in rankings and see that. It is easy to separate the two.

            And as far as Wolf, as bad as he is, he is better than Wang who seldom posts. It’s a free blog. We get what we pay for.

  4. Well, during the NFC championship game, DirecTV lost the HD feed in my area so I had to switch to my local antenna for my local FOX channel to watch the game in HD

    No one here can even remotely imagine you negotiating a Pac-12 Network contract with another company. To think of such inspires ideas akin to Laugh-In or SNL skits with Dan Akroyd or Goldie Hawn playing your part as the unprepared asst who’s always got ketchup on his overworn, huge sweatshirt that you enjoy wearing on camera all the time. On the plus side, you’re quite a fashion maven for the age 4-6 crowd.
