          the plain fact is, and this is based on solid, empirical data, the Orange Bowl win was Vacated (forfeited). so the only true BCS champeeenship title was stripped due to cheating.

  2. Papadakis was ragging on Pete about an hour ago re. the ‘….just win…’ philosophy of Pete. I got on the very tail end but he cited a player that was told one thing and something else played out (SEA) then the clincher – he began talking about his father – Jon Papadakis. Good ole’ funky boorish John claims Pete was never really a ‘Trojan’ and I don’t believe it was tied to the Reggie Bush debacle as much as the fact Pete left USC.

    Contrast that with Marcus Allen’s obvious delight and true explosion of joy when he met Pete last night with the V. Lombardi Trophy in hand – I saw Ken Norton Jr. also on the sideline during the game very animated and totally with the roll of the game.

    I don’t know what else Pete could have done save hold onto some better assistants as well as make a more determined effort in 2009 but he was already looking outside according to yesterday’s LA Times i.e. an assistant with him then at Troy and with him now seeing his lack of focus in 2009.

    He gave us three Heisman winners – two NC’s – a national recognition of the past legacy once again re-ignited as well as national hatred which I will always take – nothing but nothing prompts viewers as much as how much they want to see ‘that team’ lose – and when ‘that team’ doesn’t hearing, seeing and most of all enjoying their angst – all the clowns here – Probe, Bucket, tutu whatever, Siam-Hispanic…..their blatant loathing or the snide put down are what separates what they shall never be – something to aspire to – victors!
