Last USC Scholarship: Fred Warner Or Lamont Simmons?

If USC has only one scholarship tomorrow, who will the Trojans take? analyst Mike Ferrell believes the Trojans should take linebacker Fred Warner over cornerback Lamont Simmons because he is from Southern California and Steve Sarkisian needs as many recruits as possible for the area to help lock it down in the future.

All depends on if you get the big 3. If not, you get both.

Plus one, Fred! With 19 scholarships, why not do what’s best for team performance, and leave recruiting PR for next year?

If you recruit say 3 cornerbacks what are the odds that one of them will become a productive starter? That is why USC is overloading on cornerbacks because it increases the odds and scouting cannot always predict performance (e.g., Malcolm Smith).
