Which Recruits Can Start Next Year For USC Football?

It’s possible several freshmen could start at some point next season. Adoree Jackson could start at wide receiver or defensive back. John “JuJu” Smith could start at wide receiver. Toa Lobendahn could possibly start at center if Max Tuerk is not moved to the spot. And Damien Mama might be able to start on the offensive line especially if Tuerk moves and opens up a guard spot.

  1. On offense: I just hope the O-line recruits push the current O-line. With rare exceptions, a freshman starting on the O-line is not a good thing. Lobendahn’s early enrollment may help. The skill guys are a different story. Most have the physical ability to play now. The main issue is how long it takes them to come up to speed on the playbook. Dixon will start or see significant playing time sooner than later. And, Sark will find a way to get Jackson and Smith on the field.

On defense: The DB class is terrific, but the big bodies up front will have a better chance of early playing time. Pelon and Hill are both on campus already. Tucker is a beast. If he puts on a few pounds, he could make a real contribution.

  2. Mama…. Kid is down to 353 lbs…. When this kid gets down to 315 as planned he’s going to be a dominate force on the line … He’s got strong hands and great feet …To give you and example ….. Last summer he put Myles Garrett on his butt with one shove to the Chest with one arm…. Myles looked like a Deer in the headlights …. And went back home and put 15lbs of muscle on.

    • 86, you’re talking ’bout practice. Mama checks in at SUCC fall practice @ 395# minimum.

      • God you’re so ignorant ….You fit right in in Who-ville…I just laugh how hard Klemm and Pola try to Filp him until Moran pulled the plug so he wouldn’t corrupt other recruits like Smith and Jackson… I can’t wait till Mama flattens Jack on a RB draw.

        • 86, fairy dreams only come true in comic books. Mama has zero college experience and but you are starting him as a first string guard. What happens if Mama needs time to develop – what then coach 86. That what stinks about fans like you 86. You have such a lousy life that you would press/project your FB fantasies on the backs of SUCC’s FB freshmen. 86, you’re an certified loser.

          • hahahahahah …Clearly i got your goat with facts you loser….. The kid isn’t a project if you knew anything about football…and your sorry staff saw him an instant replacement to a good lineman you’re losing XSF….hence why Pola and Kleem got pissed at Moran telling him to forget it.. Barring injury Mama has the hands and feet to start from day one as does Viane ….Clearly the only football you know is from a PS4 OR XBOX!!!! You’re such Donkey….as for fantasies …your the one think you’re gonna win NC next year when you’re not the best team in your conference …. Beat Stanford or Oregon one time !!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! OVER THE NEXT 5 YEARS home or away doormat !!!!

          • LULZ!!!! Lucky for you..I’m not 15 …cause if I was… you’d be losing you $#it to a kid and be out witted by one to boot… and it’s you who acts like a 15 year old using lame insults that show you lack of wit and creativity …You who-ville jakcwagon!!! go do your lame 5 clap for Loser !!!! You keep making my point that you know nothing about football when you have no intelligent rebuttal pertaining to football… just blah blah blah … You’re such a joke it’s pathetic …. Like your football team.

  3. It takes about six games for even the highest skilled players to understand the play book and how to learn from mistakes. That is why college football teams that struggle the first half can often be dominant the second half. You have to risk playing the freshman. And in this case that mostly means playing freshmen O-linemen. They will make mistakes. Mama will get beaten at times on technique but the question is how soon will he learn from that? Right now Mama, Lobendahn, Talamaivao, Falah, Rodgers are the second team OL vying for first team. Jackson and Smith are accustomed to recovering from mistakes with their quickness but will also learn they have to figure out how to read the plays before they develop and as they develop. Which frosh will most likely start? Play them all for a chance at a run in the second half of the season.
