Why Has Colorado Recruited Better In Southern California?

USC plays Colorado tomorrow at the Galen Center. Two of the Buffaloes’ top three scorers are Askia Booker, who went to Price in Los Angeles and Xavier Johnson from Mater Dei in Santa Ana.

Their best player was Spencer Dinwiddie from Taft in Woodland Hills, who tore knee ligaments last month. How much better would USC be with these players? And would they come to USC now if they were high school seniors?

Does anyone think Pat Haden contacted Colorado coach Tad Boyle during last year’s coaching search?

  1. Most players would prefer Jack the Ripper to Kevin O. Too bad PH came so very late to the party.

  2. Hard hitting stuff, wolfman. When you make a case, you simply eviscerate your quarry!!

One imagines Hadden reading every wolfman post and spending much of his days muttering: “wolf…wolf…wolf” between double scotches.

    • I thought Enfield was an interesting call. It will work out or it won’t.

USC is to basketball as UCLA is to football. It ain’t so simple, and a mere arena won’t do it. All the better programs have arenas.

      • I actually really like Enfield…but this Trojan team is bad. Can’t shoot diddly squat and are very poor ball handlers. Coaching can only do so much. We’ll see if next year things look a lot different. If still bad after three years, replace Enfield. Problem is, USC just isn’t attractive to hoops coaches. So basically, we’re hoping for a miracle.

      • So you are implying what is apparent to everyone except low IQ SUCC fans: SUCC football is a 3rd rate program in the Pac 12.

        • 3rd rate just signed the #1 recruiting class in the conference! You just made a fool of your self, once again!

Give it a rest and find a boy-toy, thanks

          • Another top 10 recruiting class and #1 recruiting class in conference and STILL RANKED NO BETTER THAN # 6 in Pre Season Conference Rankings. But…wait a moment….preseason rankings don’t mean DIDDLY….do they? Who will ever forget #1 to UN!!!!!
            fit Un Knuckleheads!

      • That’s the mentality of a loser. No reason why USC can’t be a top five program like Desert Scrub.

    • Jacky boy has a point…..Why would you want to be mediocre when you’ve been terrible for 30 years? I mean….THIRTY YEARS….that’s one heck of an investment. Much better to go with the guy from The Florida Atlantic Lake Okachobee Technical Institute of basket weaving. He’s got the “What me worry” LOOK!
      fit Un!

  3. What a tradition rich program! Why wouldn’t any of the dominant Basketball Players in So Cal High Schools consider $UC? What a legacy….Davon (dumber than a sack of hammers), O.J. Mayo, Romeo, The TWO 7 Ft. Woman Punchers, “Bottom of the FIFTH” O’Neil, Tim (it’s in the envelope) Floyd, “Jim” Raveling, and who could forget Rick (we hardly got to know you) Majerus….aka $UC Baskeball’s version of $UC football D- Line Coach (for 1 week), Bo Davis!
No wonder you guy’s are all arrogant!
    fit Un!

    • And UCLA’s history is steeped in the illicit cash contributions of Sam Gilbert. Your point is… what again?

  4. thaimex -is your iq over 2– you are an absolute jerk – best if you fill in the blank -get it

    • Hey!! Be nice to ThaiMex (aka Charlie Bucket) and the other trolls like SUCC de trop.

They have to live on this board because in real life, they’re physical appearance (and likely stench from their weight) makes them unbearable.

In order to compensate, they stay here in an attempt to feel better about themselves. Bucket is the resident troll and he’s been here for over 10 years, posting 50x per day under multiple screen names.

Just like when you walk by the beggars on skid row, you don’t tease them, do you?

        • Both. You really shouldn’t be mad at the world for your shortcomings, sir.

I hope someday you feel better.

    • Now that’s just a stupid comment. You do realize that USC is harder to get into than UCLA, don’t you? Maybe that explains why they aren’t at UCLA either. Is that what you were trying to say?

  5. CO’s basketball program has a legacy of what? Enfield took an unknown program in Florida and got to the quarterfinals after being there 2 years. Enfield is a comer and he has encountered that which motivates true leaders – a mess.

USC mens basketball historically (save for 1970-71) is a mess – Enfield shall be bel-air tech’s worse nightmare…because – unlike Tom Hanks’ character in Toy Story – Enfield won’t need a ‘made man’ to duplicate a ‘NC’ as ‘woodie’ did after 1964…

Woodie….whitebread……..woodie…..”I have a clear conscience about that issue (Gilbert)…I cut and ran as I always did.

    • We won the Pac 10 in 1985 and then fired the coach and his blue chip recruits transferred and made Loyola Marymount an national power.

      • Morrison was not fired. It was a mutual decision allowing SC to dodge a bullet. Of coourse Hank, Tom, and Bo transfered, It made all the bad stuff go away…if you get my drift. Point of clarification…Tom did not go to Loyola, he became a Wave. Rav got the bad pub because he had to clean up the mess.

  6. The 1990s were the hip hip hurrah days for SC hoops with Harold Miner’s boys and then Sam Clancy Jr’s troops. Almost made it to the Final-4

And I recall some wild Trojan crowds.

    Those days could return
