  1. need far more dukes and less terrell
terrell has the worst attitude on the team
they played much better as a team when he was out for whatever the reasons were–further oraby needs to sit out for 35 minutes -play only 5 minutes -he is a solid d III player –so slow— team needs to show far more energy on defense as this is the worst shooting team i have ever seen in division 1 basketball — due primarily to one of the wost division 1 coaches in history –kevin o’neill

we will see what happens next year–very hard to watch sc basketball and i have been watching, listening and attending since 1969 –one of the worst teams i have seen –lack of talent a compounded by a lack of energy (coaching–hard to know until next year )

    • 1969? You just missed one of my 5 favorite SC hoopsters…Bill Hewitt. It was Boyd’s 1st year. Try as he might to change Bill’s jumper, he fortunately failed and Hewitt became an AA anyway. You did get to see ‘Westie’ however, right after he graduated from Aviation High. Win or lose…exciting Trojan basketball.

      • yes – westphal, gus williams , john lambert, bill boyd, dennis “mo layton-i never saw mack calvin play at sc –only in the aba –1980’s with stan morrison – purvis miller –barry brooks – ken johnson-wayne carlander -then raveling parker bibby floyd (then the true train wreck -oneill
i saw hewitt with the lakers
i am a fan no matter what– i cannot tell anything about enfield as these are not his players but he is not consistent with anything
one thing is for certain – sc basketball fans are true fans for the little success over the years for a major school keep in touch
        bill

        • Don’t forget Ron Riley on that Westphal team. Only lost 2 games, both to UCLA and in those days, no tourney unless you won the league.

Westphal was the only player ever that Wooden wanted to get and lost to SC.

          • i do remember him -6-9 and could jump through the gym
1971–ucla got walton – sc got mike westra
1974/1975 usc got earl evans from texas –ucla got marques johnson from crenshaw one really good player in– i think 1981 was clif robinson from

oakland california (6-9) and could score-if i remember – he had over 30 against ucla and the trojans beat the bruins bill

      • larry –i understand you know my brother from the other boards –mjd
i do not post nearly as much as he does–but some of the people on wolf’s blog are morons-need to clear them up you are a true fan- i -like that
i do not think there are 5000 real usc basketball fans on the planet -sad for a school like usc bill

        • If you are Michael’s brother, you can do no wrong. Neither can he, for that mater. He knows it all…even gave me a heads up when Trep was boarding a plane to Vegas to get married…all the way from his practice in Tennessee. That #$^%@ Bibby wasn’t made aware of it until 2-3 days later. This board has its football moments…just ignore the Jr. Hi mud slingers.

  2. Good article. I always liked the munchkin (Chass is the only other scholarship player ‘under 6 feet’…no pun intended). Some of my respected contemporaries on the older Biby Baby board did not concur, so adopted a ‘wait and see’ attitude. Although an insignificant statistical N (only 75″ of PT), he is tops as a 3 point shooter (7-20…35%), FT% (4-5 80%), and basically is tied with Byron for most points scored per minute. Hope this ‘great attitude’ kid returns next season, but with the somewhat erratic substitution patterns we have seen this season, who knows?
