Marcus Martin At Combine

Center Marcus Martin’s stock has been rising but his benchpress was near the bottom of the offensive linemen today. Martin did just 23 reps on the benchpress. Only 10 of the 40 linemen at the combine did fewer reps. Full results here:

  1. Martin was injured and in rehab so I think that had a lot to do with his performance. Ever have a sports injury? If you have you know what I mean.

  2. Why is the bench press even considered a measure of a football player’s strength? Why not squats, deadlifts, or snatches?
