Oregon 78, USC 63

Another game, another loss. Pe’Shon Howard led USC with 20 points. But at least this was the last home game. Big game next week against Washington State in the battle for 12th place. Someone has to win!

  1. Reminds me why I think basketball is the stupidest sport ever. My 13 year old daughter likes it, but she’ll learn soon enough how stupid it is.

    • Captain da Chin, da Chin, thinks BB is stupid because SUCC can’t compete. Classic SUCC little boy reaction. I mean If SUCC can’t win BB games, than BB must be “stupid.”

    • college basketball is far superior to college football in fan interest!! the NCAA tournament is the most exciting spectacle in sports!! final four get far more viewers than the moribund football bowl games. half of which are played before half empty stadiums, and most people just want them to finally END!!
in basketball, there is drama, cindrellas, storied programs, and rivalries!!!
and Southern Cal has been virtually LOCKED out of this whole process!!! no WONDER trOXans hate basketball!!

      • That’s what schools that can’t compete in sport ‘A’ do when they can compete in sport ‘B’

        U Controlled Lesbian Activists

        • Pretty good stuff Bore-us (Boris)….if you’re describing good ol’ LIMBO U! Sport(s) “A” must be Basketball, Football, and Baseball…while sport “B” must be some non revenue sport like Men’s Water Polo …you big russian dummy.
          fit Un!

    • No its stupid. I would say this even if USC had a winning team. I mean c’mon, “one and done” players? Geez. I play basketball with my kid, she likes it, and its fun (she kicks my astrolab). But at the college and pro level….nah…..

      • I agree Ray. That one and done rule has ruined the sport. They should have the baseball rule- draft out of high school or stay 3 years.

  2. Oh well, the 1954 SUCC BB team finished third in that Final Four. The SUCC 2014 version is now 1 -15 in conf. and 10 – 19 overall. The SUCC rationalization: No one cares about SUCC BB. I’ll bet P. Haden does.

    • That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Haden made a major, major run at Wichita St’s (31 – 0) HC. SUCC need BB credibily

    • You are batting .500. You are correct about no one caring about BB being nothing more than a rationalization for many SC fans. In actuality, the administration has always given it a fairly low priority. As far as P. Haden is concerned, he ain’t rockin’ no boat. A caring professional would not have put up with Kevin O for more than a nanosecond. As a result, the BB program (such that it was) wound up being cut to the quick. ETA just to a previous level is probably in the neighborhood of 5 years or so. When political posturing is given top priority by an AD the outcome can not be predicted. In our case, football and women’s sports wound up getting the majority of focus. Haden is a smart cookie, unfortunately more concerned with self-image than he should be. Granted, he is head and shoulders better than Napoleon, but far from being anywhere close to a Pre-MG Athletic Director. You think Haden cares about BB? Only to the extent that it does not make him look bad in the context of ‘The big picture’. Don’t get me started about baseball.
Speaking about baseball, .500 is pretty good.

      • We were having success in the early 2000s losing to Duke in the Final 8. The fans packed the Sports Arena and Pete used it to reinforce January recruiting visits. Then Bibby self-destructed. We were having success with Tim Floyd and then the team disintegrated in a matter of weeks after a missed lay up against eventual runner up Michigan State knocked us out of March Madness. Everytime we are about to take off something bad happens going back to Sam Barry.

  3. Scott. Do you read your reader’s comments? You are failing miserably. The ONLY thing keeping this blog alive are the UCLA trolls. HMMMMM. You are probably one of them, if not two or more, in disguise. Sick, pathetic.

    • Captain da Chin, da Chin, you obviously don’t read the Wolf’s blog comment. Wolf has stated numerous times he very seldom reads the blog comments. He has also stated when he does read them they don’t effect how he runs the blog.

      • Of course you Ugly trolls know more about this blog than true USC fans. FIGHT ON!

    • Ask and you shall receive…Out of the mouth of babes…

**· because i am not going to spend my life tied to the comments section. i’m doing a two-hour chatright now. after that you want me to read 150 comments? no thanks. that’s why there is a moderator**

Touched a nerve, did I? Does this answer your question?

  4. Is this how Scott earns a living? Creating UCLA trolls on this board? Just to gain interest when there would not be any interest? Well, there WOULD be interest. There IS interest. But the fake trolls are a piece of sheeeeeit. FAKE. How stupid does the Daily News think we are?

  5. All “UCLA” trolls….go to your page, your site…..type there and be happy happy joy joy.

  6. This blog is like the Crimea of USC fandom. Half the people here were already Bruin fans, even before the latest invasion.

  7. O.K., our boys were in the game at the 33 minute mark, but unfortunately they made the college game 40 minutes. Troy just does not have the horses to go the distance, but I believe this will change, starting next year

Anyway, congratulations to the seniors in their last home game, who endured a difficult 4-year journey, but who will be the better for it as they move into the real world, a world sans silly sports and sports fanatics.

    • **Anyway, congratulations to the seniors in their last home game, who endured a difficult 4-year journey**
      …and who might that be?
Omar the tentmaker?…nope. This is only his 2nd season. He was a transfer.
Haley?…not close. This is only his 1st season. He also was a transfer.
Pe’Shon?…Another transfer who has been with us only 1 season.
JT?…Another 2 year transfer with more than a few ‘ups’ and ‘downs’.

The only senior who will have endured the difficult 4-year journey is Wesley. This will only be applicable this time next year as he is currently but a Junior. And yes…he will deserve accolades when he eventually gets to his final home game.

  8. Can USC please fire Andy and hire Ben Howland. This program has no identity. It is a mediocre junior college team at best. I am not sure USC could beat Santa Monica College or El Camino. Shameful.
