Everything Starts With A Snap

Forget quarterback, if USC cannot snap the ball next season the offense goes nowhere. That is why spring practice is going to be critical. Some readers have told me Khaliel Rodgers will be the center. I think Toa Lobendahn or Max Tuerk will be the center.

But this is the position that needs to get squared away in spring practice. USC’s been fortunate in recent years at the center spot, especially last year when Marcus Martin quickly adapted to the position. Someone needs to step into the role now or the offense could be in trouble.

  1. The entire foundation of the offense is based on O Line. So the Center is important but so are the guards and tackles. If we can’t pass protect or run block, this will not be a good season. Very important to pick the best 5 guys and form the depth chart so when summer practice starts those guys know they are it and can work to form cohesion.

  2. TAKE A KNEE WOLF.. I GOT THIS
Hearing that ESPN is doing a “Spring Bus Tour”… Since SUCLA is claiming to own LA, ESPN rather visits USC on Mar 11th.. Proving UCLA is still irrelevant to College football..
    That is all..

    • No that proves that the ESPN circus would go SUCC because Will Feral will entertain a large audience of SUCC chumps. Don’t forget BM, UCLA owns LA Football.

  3. I fail to understand this alarmism. Each school replaces their starting center about every 2 years, and Gargamel just listed three potential starters. All will be fine, or at least, no different than which every college football program will deal/is dealing/has dealt.

    • That’s because football is above your pay grade, You only know the Smurfs, Golly-Nerd.

      • Unlike your idol, I actually ASKED Max last year during spring ball why he wasn’t playing center anymore.

He didn’t seem happy about going back to guard, but admitted that the team had more depth there and needed him at guard and possibly backup tackle.

  4. Funny how now he’s saying Marcus Martin “quickly adapted to the position” when he wrote several blogs last season that Martin was struggling.

Then again, someone asked him in one of the chats if he’d have the over or under with 8 wins, he said, “under”.
