USC Women’s Basketball Faces St. John’s

The Trojans are a No. 9-seed and face No. 8 seed St. John’s in Knoxville, Tenn. The winner faces Tennessee on its home court. Only in women’s basketball!

USC is playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006. USC coach Cynthia Cooper on playing St. John’s and possibly Tennessee. “I’m actually surprised we got up to a ninth seed but pleasantly surprised. I don’t like the fact if we win we get the No. 1 seed in the second round.”

  1. We’re ranked 25, PAC 12 champs and beat Stanford. This seeding shows just how petty they intend to be and how they will continue to punish SC now that FB sanctions are ending.

    • The mens brackets show rankings don’t result in seeding. Winning your conf. tourny gets you in but doesn’t give you much bump unless you did well in the regular season. Even so, at best USC would be a 7 seed instead of 9, go women of Troy! Oh, and where exactly are the Ruin B—-es, you trolls?!

      • We are here to applaud the efforts of The Very Fine Women of Troy! We will be watching (and rooting them on) as the tournament progresses. The accomplishments of the Ladies of Troy merely confirm what most of us already know….SUCC is a leader in Women’s Sports, unlike their male counterparts. It’s too bad all those athletic scholarships (awarded to males) are put to waste because of Title IX.
        fit Un!

        • Thank you for your support. You’ve been one of the most consistent USC supporters and the money you spend on the program is much appreciated. Fight On to all of Bucket’s Trojan supporter pseudonyms.

          Au contraire amigo.
We are but 8th with16 NCAA women’s championships. Stanford is the leader with 43. UCLA ladies are the bridesmaids with 39 (including the latest victory
          in soccer).
On the men’s front, USC is the leader with 83 (thanks once again to water polo). UCLA stuck again with the wilted bridesmaids flowers at 72. The Tree is 3rd with 61, and Oklahoma St (thanks to 34 wrestling titles)
          is 4th with 51.
To wipe away bitter runner-up tears, we combine genders … lo and behold, the baby bears can now be 1st at something…with a total of 111. Stanford is 2nd
with 104, USC has 100 and Stillwater (God bless ‘um) hangs in there at 4th with the same 51.
Our connoisseur of the finer things in life, Mr Haden, will eventually get our ladies up to snuff. But until that time arrives, we do not claim to be the leader in women’s
sports. Only those who blatantly ignore the data in order to make a thinly veiled chauvinistic dig. One thing
for sure, you are the antithesis of Diogenes.

          Lunch next week?

      • SC certainly has a more celebrated history in Women’s Basketball than they do with the Men. Go ladies!
