College Baseball: Stony Brook 4, USC 3

Timmy Robinson went 2 for 5 with 3 RBI but the Trojans (10-9) dropped one of those Tuesday night games you really need to win if you want to have a respectable record. Especially with a three-game series at Stanford this weekend. The Cardinal are only 7-8 but likely to be tough at home.

    • Stony Brook, who made the trip to Omaha in 2012. Rather like the Gonzaga of college baseball the last few years. Poor pitching in a big inning did the Trojans in for a game they should have won. But only someone who knows nothing about college baseball would ridicule Stony Brook.

      • If any team deserves ridicule it would be SUCC. TF, my previous post translated means – Stony Brook had zero trouble defeating mighty SUCC. But you knew that didn’t you TF?

        • Stony Brook, a 2012 College World Series team, beat USC on the road. USC should have won but got poor pitching. On no planet, however, is a 4-3 win “easily defeated.” USC had the winning run on base in the 9th. They lost a tough one they should have won. That is not an excuse. But you suggested that 2012 College World Series team Stony Brook was possibly division 2. That shows how little you know about the sport. You are the sort of fan who trolls a college basketball site because someone lost to Gonzaga, Butler, or VCU. Any informed fan knows those are good programs. So is Stony Brook in baseball.

Unlike you, troll, I’m interested in actually providing and getting information from this site. Unlike you, I actually enjoy college athletics. Unlike you, I like teams rather than hate teams. Your posts say nothing about USC and everything about you.

          • Soulda, coulda, woulda, excuses is all you have TF, as usual. How can you whine SUCC should have won, and also claim in the same breathe SUCC suffered from “poor pitching.” SUCC lost to Stony Brook, because SB was the superior team. Whether SB is div 1 or 2 is irrelevant except too pedantic SUCC fan twits with nothing better to do than argue relentlessly against the salient point: SUCC lost to Stony Brook 4 – 3. Doo-Da. Next SUCC BB losses – @ Stanford this weekend. Bub bye.

          • I sometimes think you don’t know how to actually read. “Should have won” means “USC should have a program that beats teams like Stony Brook at home.” It is not an excuse. On the contrary, it is a criticism. Teams pitch poorly sometimes and lose. it is a bad loss because USC should be able to beat teams like Stony Brook at home.
And YOU brought up whether Stony Brook was Division 1 or Division 2. So if you’d like to concede that your points are irrelevant, I’ll stipulate to that fact. You know why you made that idiotic point. You, as a troll, want to make every loss look as bad as possible. On this point you are wrong. You accuse me of being pedantic when all I am doing is responding to your own points. So your method is this: make an irrelevant, poorly-argued point. Have it refuted. Claim the refutation is pedantic and the refuter is a “twit.” If you don’t want your poorly-argued, irrelevant points refuted, don’t make them.

          • So TF what’s your point. We both know SUCC took one in the shorts and lost 4 – 3 at home to Stony Brook. All the rest of the your extemporaneous bs you continue to shovel and link to SUCC’s loss can and should be debated minutely with your therapist.

          • YOU brought up the division 1 or 2 point. I’m debating YOUR point. If you can’t defend it, have the stones to admit it. But ad hominem attacks belong in the 4th grade or on talk radio. Why do I need to see a therapist when I’m only disproving the point YOU made?

      • You know what they say about EXCUSES…..AZZZZWHOLE!
fit Un…(a great big torgan shout out to the Ladies of Troy!…..FIT UN!)

  1. As Christopher Guest would say, it’s time to take the make up off for the SC baseball team this season. Wolfie, stop coverage stat!!! Water polo season will be here before we know it.

    • Wait it’s coming to me, oh yeah, UCLA. Another question Professor: Was SUCC’s 2013 BB team invited to the NCAA BB first round playoffs last year?

      • Thanks for the answer!! I guess UCLA really is the schools of Champions!!! As for USC basketball team’s invitation to the tournament? I don’t believe they even got invited to the Pac-12 tournament did they?
