One of the highlights covering USC was the Trojans’ run to the Elite Eight in 2001. Yesterday’s mention of Joe Callero reminded me of Brian Scalabrine’s senior year. After the Trojans upset Boston College in Uniondale, N.Y., to make the Sweet 16, Coach Henry Bibby promised to show the team New York City the following day. Where did Bibby take them for dinner? KFC.
