USC Morning Buzz: Urban Meyer On An `Obviously Good Football Coach’

LANE.PAC-12.MEDIA

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, who feuded with Lane Kiffin when both were SEC head coaches, used an interesting phrase while discussing his relationship with Kiffin.

“There has been a lot of publicity about Lane Kiffin and I having issues. There’s none,” Meyer told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He’s obviously a good football coach, and I wish him well. I think it was a great hire for Alabama.”

Obviously a good football coach? What’s been obvious in the past seven years to illustrate Meyer’s point?

  1. Wolf, if we all admit that Lane is a terrible coach, a retched human being, an abusive husband, a pedaphile, and the man behind the missing 777, would you move on and stop writing about him? The only one that cares is you.

    • Phulezz! It is a mater of record that Lame had NOTHING TO DO WITH the missing 777.

        • OK, a mater is a mother and I am unable to convert it to a plausible spin. Making a federal case over a typro?
          But good catch none-the-less.
I have been getting punchy over the past several days. I have an appointment with my tax guy next Tuesday and I fear that my nose has grown to such an extent as to not be able to get through the door of his office.

          • Hi Larry, it’s John from the IRS. Can I have your middle name, please? Nice pic, btw. 😉

          • Be glad to John, but 1st I need to see your photo ID so I can compare it to your avatar. Can’t be too careful nowadays. BTW, If I give it to you, does that mean we are engaged? If so, you can’t have it, but I know this guy named ThaiMex who is starved for affection. You would like him. As you sound like a nice guy, I will even waive the finders fee. If I didn’t, would I have to declare it as income?

  2. In a closed working environment, where there are only a few hundred big-name employees (college football coaches) why state something negative about a fellow coach when you know it will get back to him and only antagonize him towards you.

This is why we have journalists such as Wolf to do the “necessary” dirty work

  3. 2011, USC finished #6 in the polls, played at a very high level at the end of the season, arguably one of the top teams in the country. If Kiffin gets the blame for when the team plays poorly, he gets credit for when they play well, dingo.

      • Wait a minute — you’re not a Bruin fan or a USC fan! I figured out your weird user name!

People, if you re-arrange the letters in SUCC de trop, it spells “SEC PRODUCT”.

This guy is part of the ESPN/SEC/East Coast media conspiracy against the Pac-12!

  4. Wonder if ANYONE, other than that idiot bucket, has ever said “obviously Wolf is a good sports writer”. Doubt it.

  5. Amusing how the Dummies ate up the Caesar posts with a spoon, no cries of “let it go, wolfman” but mention Kiff, and they start flinging their dung in all directions!!

    That is called hypocrisy!

    Sweeeet scooopin, wolfman!!

    • Bucket, you’re on this site for one reason, to be a troll, which I admit you are very good at. When you make an effort to post serious replies and try to impart wisdom, you lose what little respect you have. Please get back to gross characterizations and petty comments.

      • Well said.

It’s a shame guys like him and HeySUCS are wheelchair bound or grossly overweight where they can’t get out into the world and socialize.

Even with their shortcomings, they can still be productive in the world rather than living off welfare or some other government assistance.

Bucket has been here over 10 years. If you add up all the time he’s spent here, his impact trying to do something productive would’ve been huge.

        • Don’t take SUCC’s bait, Arash. He is obviusly a USC fan pretending to be a Bruin fan, being ridiculous on purpose. I’m surprised I didn’t figure it out sooner.

          • I knew he wasn’t a Bruin fan long ago. During one of my first exchanges with him, I brought up WR Nelson Rosario and he replied, “I have no idea who that is…”

On another post, he claimed Jim Mora called the plays on offense and everyone had to correct him that Mazzone does!

Everyone had a field day with that one.

          • All 4 people who post on this board outside of your buddy Bucket and all his screen names.

          • Bobby Boy: smoozing with the SUCCster’s because you’re an ignorant eightball. Earth is still flat and SUCC’s a great Univ in your tiny universe.

        • Wolfman has been operating the puppet for the last 10 years! The guy has mental issues but continues to live in denial. Plus, his kiffin obsession is beyond ridiculous

          • Yup. There’s no way anyone can be trolling for that long. Even the crystal meth heads end up dying or kicking the habit.

      • There is a thread on usc rivals dot com, message boards, Trojan Football Forum, on Wolfie. Its titled “It is now official,” and begins with this remark by “Troy Man,” “Scott Wolf now has more bRuins reading and posting on his blog page than anyone else. He is like an idol to them.” He goes on to post, “Ticks me off that a Trojan beat writer and alum puts negative crap against USC into the hands of the enemy.”

          • We close our eyes, breath deeply … and think of Robert Woods and Marqise Lee scoring at will on the hapless Bruin defense in 2011. It will never get old.

          • Touche, but you know what else never gets old: SUCC returns Reggie’s Heisman, forfeits games and rolls over for sanctions, or SUCC’s the Unfinished Business” season or the fabulous, incredible success of the SUCC men’s Basketball team. You’re right on TTN, it will never get old.

          • You do know that it is a little sad that UCLA let itself go so badly in football that you celebrate NCAA railroad jobs, while calling three-loss seasons a “revolution”? And even when things went badly for us in ’12, we still had a winning season. 7-6 and a trip to El Paso would have been a high water mark under Rick Neuheisel. You guys need to return to your own forum, hunker down and stop running your Bruin mouths so much until you experience some real success.

          • When SUCC’s Men’s Basketball team wins a NCAA Championship, I’m outta here. Copy my response so you can hold me to my solemn promise.

          • We will have to look up Sam Gilbert and see if he can help us get that done too. BTW, I have an old coin that was made in 1995, too.

          • How do you hide that from 1933 to 1943 USC defeated UCLA 42 straight times in basketball?

    • Go back to bed the batteries are fresh!

PS…no one gives a shlt what you say to say

  6. Isn’t Urban Myer the same coach who said Tim Tebow should be playing in the NFL ? Lmao !!! Enough said !!!!

  7. Semantics….what he DIDN’T say….He is obviously a good HEAD football coach.

  8. He was using it ironically. Like when we say Wolf is obviously a good journalist.

  9. I once joked that Wolf has a wheel he spins that gives him a blog topic. 90% of the wheel is “Lane Kiffin”, 5% troll bait, 4% Pete Carrol, and 1% football.

This post had me uncover a suspicion and now that I’ve confirmed so, I couldn’t believe Wolf could be even CREEPIER.

I had a thought that Wolf actually wakes up in the morning and asks himself, “what’s LK doing today?” Since Wolf does 100% of his research on Google, I decided to Google: Lane Kiffin. Search filter: Last 24 hours.

Guess what article came up #1? This one!

The creep really does Google Lane Kiffin every morning!

  10. OH Gees
    #INFATUATION
    #CREEPY
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE RELAY THIS MESSAGE… LET KIFFIN GO! WE HAVE ALL MOVED ON BUT THE Creepy Scott “copy and paste” Wolf

  11. Prior to being ranked #1 in the nation pre-season 2012, Kiff was doing just fine. If I remember correctly, he beat a lower tier junior college team that sports powder blue and pee yellow jerseys 50 to 0! I don’t care who you beat, if the score is FIFTY to ZERO, that’s pretty good
