At the NCAA Tournament, no less. With three teams in the Sweet 16, the conference has already made about $3.25 million under the formula that rewards conferences with more teams advancing through each round.

  1. Well, good. SC football has earned Pac-12 schools a lot of money over the years through its bowl participation, so maybe we can see a bit of reciprocation, albeit at a much lower scale (basketball is a poor man’s football)

  3. Imagine if the 64 teams had colluded to create an obscure enough perfect bracket and then fixed games to achieve it. They would each net north of $16M splitting Warren Buffet’s reward. Do our great academic institutions have no more mathematicians?
