Armond Armstead Lawsuit Against USC Might Go To Jury Trial In 2015

Former USC defensive limeman Armond Armstead’s lawsuit might end up going to a jury trial though not anytime soon after a judge’s ruling today. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos tentatively denied motions to dismiss the case but has not made a final decision.

A trial would not start until March, 2015 because Armstead’s lawyers want more time. Armstead alleges USC team doctors gave him painkillers that caused a heart attack. Full story here

    • Yahoo! Sports is still investigating, but apparently they called it “Kiff Syrup.”

  1. Interesting how a twisted lawyer can convince someone with no case, that he or she ca squeeze money out of the deep pockets. The kid now claims he was required to play. When asked if anyone at USC told him he must play h said, “No I just knew I was supposed to.” So what we have is a kid who is given a free education, worth real money to someone who knows how to use it, trying to bite the hand that gave it to him because he was not physically able to play in the NFL . It is sad, really sad, that we have this mentality. But think about it out of the 70 or more scholarship players on any team only a handful make the NFL. What guarantee did he have?

    • He should have the assurance of medical treatment to cute and relieve injuries from playing (or from inappropriate treatment).

Thank goodness with the Northwestern U case, students at unscrupulous Private universities will have access to Workers’ Comp bnfts!

The Armonds and Stefons of the world won’t be forced to beg or sue for benefits they deserve!
