Marqise Lee Will Attend NFL Draft

MARQISE.LEE.TDUSC wide receiver Marqise Lee will attend the NFL draft in New York City next month. Good for Lee. Too many players refuse to go these days worried about where they will get drafted.

  1. Yeah, I bet it can be a bit embarrassing if you think you are Top-32 material, and then sit there as you drop into the 100s.

    • An excellant point. A wise NFL team pays for performance not potential. Lee is too fragile to for round 1-3 status. Strictly a situational NFL receiver.

      • You may be right about Lee’s NFL career, but how do you explain Anthony Barr being a no show in New York for draft day, per the NFL? Maybe he wants to stay at home and celebrate with his family? Perhaps he is camera shy and doesn’t want his picture taken with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hoisting the jersey of the team drafting him? Is this why Mora felt is necessary to tell Michael Lev earlier this week “There’s not a chance that Anthony Barr gets to the second round. Not a chance.”?…….Is Barr’s ego that fragile?….. Just asking……Aundrey Walker made him look like a sure fire top 10 pick these last couple of years…..so why isn’t Barr going to be in NY?

        • What’s to explain? The decision is to go or not is up to Barr, and a photo op with Goodell in New York isn’t on Barr’s bucket list.

    • As great as Marquis was in college, I think his best football is ahead of him. As a GM, i would always be reluctant to spend an early pick on a WR or RB, but you have to figure that with the tools he possesses, Marquis could be worth at least 40 points a season over just about any other WR in this season’s draft.

      • FYI SoW, M. Lee dropped the most passes in 2013 season when compared to other projected top 10 WR’s in this year’s NFL draft.

  2. Lee’s draft status will improve with any GM who actually sits down and talks with him. Outstanding young man. Hope he can stand the pounding in NFL. He was clearly not recovered from injury last year, but crazy talented when healthy.

    • I think he needs another 10 lbs on his frame to be durable enough in the NFL. We’ll have to see if it has any effect on his speed. I wouldn’t have him return kicks or punts, either.
