Over the weekend I highlighted a Steve Sarkisian quote: “We’re USC, and we’re going to play the best teams. It’s not just Notre Dame. We’ve got some nonconference games this year and moving forward with quality opponents. That’s been that way forever. That’s not going to change.”
Now let’s look at that 2015 schedule: The Trojans play Arkansas State on Sept. 5, 2015 and Idaho on Sept. 12, 2015. How are those games going to be viewed by the College Football Playoff committee if USC is fortunate enough to be in the Final Four mix?
Pat Haden probably won’t mind leaving the room when that topic gets brought up by the committee. It certainly will be harder to deride Alabama for playing Louisiana-Monroe in 2015.
